Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Now earn BAA WorldPoints with Heathrow Express

I’m not sure what took them so long, since BAA (owner of Heathrow) also owns the Heathrow Express train company, but you can now earn BAA WorldPoints when you book Heathrow Express tickets online.

Until August 31st, you earn triple points on all your bookings, which is the equivalent of 3% back.

If you earn double WorldPoints already (because you spent £500 with them last year or so far this year) then you’ll get 6 points per £1, so 6% back.  And, of course, you can convert your WorldPoints to Avios points, Virgin Flying Club miles or Miles & More if you’d prefer that to BAA shopping vouchers.

If you are not already a WorldPoints member, there is a decent sign-up bonus for Avios collectors discussed here.

Of course, Heathrow Express is still not cheap, even with some WorldPoints coming back.  (Although the new First Class carriage, pictured above, certainly looks pleasant.)  Next week, in time for that Summer trip to the airport, I will be showing you various ways of getting the cost down.
