Tesco Clubcard ‘500 points for 2 HP inks’ promotion returns

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Back in June I wrote about this Tesco promo for buying HP ink cartridges.

Well, the deal is back.  Buy 2 cartridges from Tesco Direct and get 500 bonus CC points.  The cheapest is £6.36 (if it doesn’t show on the list, it is sold out) so £12.72 for 512 Clubcard points, which is 1,228 Avios.  Roughly 1p per Avios point earned.

If there is another conversion bonus to Avios in future, you will have paid even less.

However, the best bit is that these cartridges sell easily on eBay, so you will recoup some of your outlay.  You could even post them off, whilst full, for recycling!

As always with Tesco promotions, keep screenshots of the offer and the terms and conditions in case you have any problems getting your points to post.  This is especially true if you are doing a bulk order.

Have been ordering a few of these this morning and stock keeps changing as they add stock (with very slight variations in pricing!)

I could only get a couple of the cheap ones first time round and then went in 5 minutes later and could order 8 so do persevere.

Many thanks for the heads up Raffles, Ed

  • PhilH says:

Thanks for the heads-up on this Raffles. I needed to head down to my local Tesco Extra to try and source some more £11.50 Rangpur, so I can now pick up these at the same time. Bargain!

  • PhilH says:

Arrgghhh. Just had an email from Tesco apologising that they’ve messed up my order and have refunded me. I wonder if I’ll still get the points? My experience with wine before I did, although that was a failed delivery rather than a pick up. I presume the cheapest ink cartridges are now out of stock and indeed they’ve disappeared from the list, cheapest no £7.99 (you might want to update the sums above, Raffles?)

  • Ed E says:

I also had the same, not sure if it was ordering too many, will have a look in store tonight.

  • Greg K says:

Honestly Tesco should just sell up to X0,000 Clubcard points per year at 3p each or something. Also I wonder who buys these things on ebay (especially the samsung tab, I basically got my points for free!) when there is a much better deal at tesco…

  • RAPC says:

Bought 4 from my local Tesco earlier this week and the 1,000 bonus points posted yesterday without a hitch. Off to buy a few more tonight. Handily enough, my HP printer has just run out of ink, so very timely.
