Club Carlson has launched its 4th Quarter promotion.  Sadly they were unable to come up with a catchy name for it, but lets not hold that against them!

It is a simple proposition – the more nights you stay, between October 1st and December 31st – the more bonus points you earn.

2,000 bonus points per night when you stay 1 to 5 nights
4,000 bonus points per night when you stay 6 to 9 nights
6,000 bonus points per night when you stay 10 to 20 nights

The important thing to note is that the bonus is awarded in January and based on your total stays.  You do NOT earn 2,000 for the first 5 nights then 4,000 for the next four and 6,000 for the next 10.

You earn the bonus amount on EVERY night you stayed, so 10 nights gets you 60,000 bonus points.  And this is on top of your standard points (20 per $1 spent), status bonus and the 1,000 point per stay online booking bonus.

Let’s assume you did 5 x 2-night stays, average £100 per night at $1.60 to the £1, booked online, no status.  You would earn 60,000 bonus points, 5,000 online booking points and 32,000 base points – let’s call it 100,000 points for simplicity.

100,000 points is worth 2 nights in a top category Club Carlson hotel.  Alternatively, it is worth 18,000 Avios points or miles in 20+ other airline programmes.  That averages out at 1,800 Avios per night – not bad at all.

As a reminder, the Club Carlson brands you will find in UK are Radisson, Park Plaza and Park Inn.

Registration is required for this promotion, which you can do here.

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Premium status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.

The big winners on this one will be business travellers (as opposed to the 50k promos which were much more useful for leisure travellers). I wonder whether this is a change in strategy for them.

    • Raffles says:

Not necessarily. There is a buy 1 get 1 free Carlson promo running as well, but only in the US which is why I haven’t written about it.

  • britbronco says:

Hopefully the real PC fall/winter promo hasn’t been released yet?
