2-4-1 entry to No1 Traveller lounges with Tastecard

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

The group of ‘No1 Traveller’ lounges have teamed up with Tastecard, the discount dining group, to offer 2-4-1 entry to cardmembers.

Whilst I’ve never yet found the chance to visit one, the ‘No1’ lounges have a very good reputation and are substantially above the quality of the usual third party airport lounge.  Take a look at their website

Current locations are Gatwick North, Gatwick South and Heathrow Terminal 3 with Birmingham coming soon.

With this promo, a Tastecard member can get two people into the lounge for the price of 1.  This cannot be prebooked, so you are paying the walk-up price (up to £30) as opposed to the cheaper pre-booked online rate.  Given the wide range of free food (hot and cold) plus free drinks (except champagne), wi-fi and the high standard of decor, it looks like a decent deal if you will have a couple of hours to kill.

The press release is here and an extract from the Tastecard website is here.

It is worth noting that Tastecard offers a 30-day free trial so you could sign up purely to take advantage of this deal.  There are often deals knocking around for a longer free trial as well, so keep your eyes open.

Nice benefit. I am a big Taste Card fan (you can buy a years membership via ebay for less than £10)

For those without a Taste card, it’s worth noting that the O2 Priority Moments app often has a deal on for the No. 1 lounges – they have in the past given away free entry, and at the moment it’s £5 off (which can be combined with the £5 prebooking discount).

I had the chance to ask about The Taste Card entry to the Escape lounge in Terminal 1 Manchester on Sunday. It is only valid for the walk-in rate which is £20 pp at all times. The offer is two people for the price of one.

The escape lounges differ from more traditional lounges in that drinks are served from the bar and, although there is a selection of complimentary snacks available, there is a stronger emphasis on paid menu items and premium drinks.

The atmosphere is pleasant enough and would recommend it as an ‘escape’ from the sitting in the shopping centre alternative.
