The 10,000 Miles & More miles sign-up bonus for the UK credit card sign-up is back

Lufthansa Miles & More has brought back its 10,000 miles bonus for getting the Miles & More credit card.
Full details can be found here.
The bonus is actually 11,500 miles. You get the usual 1,500 miles (pathetic really!) for opening the account, plus the special bonus of 10,000 miles when you spend £750 within 30 days.
The card has no annual fee. It has an important secondary benefit as well – as long as you have it and use it, your Miles & More miles will not expire. This offsets the rather draconican expiry policy that otherwise applies.
It is also possible to collect Miles & More miles by getting the Starwood SPG American Express card and converting the points to Lufthansa. However, that only gets you 1.25 miles per £1 (assuming you convert at 20,000 point multiples).
The Miles & More Amex offers 1.5 miles per £1, with 0.75 miles per £1 on the Visa. For the first 6 months there is an improved rate of 2 per £1 on the American Express and 1 per £1 on the Visa.
Miles & More miles are useless for European redemptions because of the stupidly huge amount required (35,000 miles for London to Frankfurt in Economy, plus over £100 of taxes?!). Long-haul there are some decent deals, but this credit card is only really worthwhile if you are already feeding your Star Alliance flights into Miles & More.
The deadline to apply is December 15th.
