Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Good Tesco deal – earn 200 Clubcard points (480 Avios) for a £4 spend

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

I have been featuring a lot of bonus Clubcard offers on Head for Points recently.  It was never part of the plan, as Tesco has never historically run that many at once, but it seems that their weakening sales position has pushed them into action.

Here is another great Tesco Direct deal.

Buy any 2 Tesco branded ink cartridges and get 200 bonus points, worth 480 Avios or 500 Virgin miles.

Here is the result of the search you need to do on Tesco Direct.

You will see (assuming it is still in stock) that the cheapest cartridge is just £2, so you are paying £4 for your 480 Avios airmiles.  This is a very decent deal anyway, but if you hold your vouchers until the next Tesco to Avios conversion bonus, it will become even better.

Remember that ‘click and collect’ orders sent to your nearest store are postage free.

I don’t know if these cartridges sell well on eBay – you wouldn’t get much money in your hand after postage, eBay and Paypal fees, and you may find that its not worth the effort.  At this price, it doesn’t really matter.

There you go Raffles you’ve moved the (ink) market!

      • Raffles says:

Possibly because I ordered 20 last night! Keep an eye on it, they tend to come in and out of stock. Wonder if it is on instore as well? The HP deal was also in-store.

  • Andy says:

They are back in stock but £2.50 each now

  • Simon says:

Another good Tesco offer is to pre-order “Lemon Popsicle Strawberry Milkshake – Love Me Do The Year That Changed Music”

Cost at the moment is £3 and you get 150 clubcard points for the pre-order

  • Raffles says:

2040 points hit overnight for the cartrdiges I haven’t picked up yet! Will keep the vouchers for a transfer promo or the maths won’t work for me.

    • Roger says:

My £56-ish transaction showed upin my Tesco account, earning 655 Clubcard points. That would be 55 for the goods + 3x 200 bonus.

The expenditure shown is £655! Something of a shock until I checked our Gold AmEx account which recorded the payment correctly – and earned 2x MRs including first year bonus.

This offer also seems to be available in-store. Yesterday I saw some of the Tesco Inks on the clearance shelf at £1 each. Does anybody know if the points are given on reduced price stock as well?

I suppose if they do not sell on Ebay they could also be recycled for 100 points each if they are on the tesco list?

    • Raffles says:

In general, price reductions do NOT affect bonus points. Plenty of people buy reduced end-of-date veg when they are on bonus points, and still get the points.
