Well, this is one promo I didn’t expect to see again!  But here it is.

For TODAY (Friday) and TOMORROW (Saturday) only, you can book rooms for £20.12 at over 180 Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express and Crowne Plaza hotels across the UK.

Here is the full list of participating hotels (deleted as link now dead).

Some of these properties are usually very expensive indeed.

All bookings are room-only, except at Holiday Inn Express where breakfast is free for everyone.  You need to pay for internet access at all of these hotels, if that is important to you.

The rules are generally straightforward.  Pay upfront, no refunds, stay between 22 December and 10 February.  These rooms will not earn Priority Club points or count towards status, although you should receive status benefits if you have it.

Availability, I have to say, is VERY limited at the super-expensive London hotels.  However, it does exist.  I found Crowne Plaza – The City for Christmas Day.

I also found a Monday to Friday 4-night run available at the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum and Holiday Inn Stratford City amongst others.

The only confusion is here: “Offer is limited to 2 rooms per household. Hotels have the right to refuse to honour rooms booked in excess of the 2 room limit.”

What does this mean?  2 rooms at the same hotel at the same time?  2 rooms in total over the whole promotion?  2 room NIGHTS in total, or unlimited nights as long as you only make 2 bookings?  This restriction has not been there before.

Jump in – if you can find something.

Is there any good way to search across a broad date range to see which days are still on dicsount or are you forced to do it day by day?

    • Raffles says:

Usually you can use travelocity.com (not .co.uk) by searching for a hotel and not putting in a date. Doesn’t work here as these are not public rates, though.

  • Tikal says:

Also point to note, it seems that the Holiday Inn Express offer free hot buffet breakfast. I’ve booked another room around Christmas for 2 adults and 2 children. This breakfast alone has to be worth nearly £20!

    • Andrew says:

Don’t get your hopes up – the hot options are usually dried up scrambled eggs and very cheap sausage, or baked beans if you are really lucky!

  • Jens Moller says:

I booked a ‘family room’ for two nights at Holiday inn Portsmouth. Nice pool, the kids will love it.

Thanks for the ‘heads up’ !!!

  • Richard Harris says:

Thanks for the info – got a room at Brighton and Cambridge.

    Appreciated!

  • Brian says:

Wouldn’t have known about this if it wasn’t for Raffles. Just booked two nights at the Crowne Plaza – The City at the start of Febuary, and two nights at the Holiday Inn: Regents Park in January.

  • Rich Spencer says:

Still seems to be availability for a few places down south for a Fri Night at the start of Jan.
We’re based in SW London and I was wondering if anyone can advise on the “better” Holiday Inn’s to visit (Nice pool etc) which is within a couple of hours drive?

    • Raffles says:

Maidenhead has a pool and is very close to Cliveden for sightseeing. The one time I stayed there I got a very nice refurbished room. CP Marlow also a decent pool (lots of kids there as near Legoland) and well placed for walks up and down the Thames to Marlow and Bourne End.

  • louie-m says:

Seems the CP City keeps on adding rooms. I’ve just booked a second room for Sat 9 Feb, having booked one last night. No rooms at all were available when I first checked yesterday morning, then I got one last night, then I tried to book a second one later last night and none were available but one was a couple of minutes ago. I’m chuffed!

Following a delightful £20.12 stay last year at the HI Mayfair (we were upgraded), I’ve just booked 2 nights in early January – I was surprised that I could have booked a 3-night stay.

‘Points earned’ showed up during the booking process but show as 0 in the confirmation.

“‘Points earned’ showed up during the booking process but show as 0 in the confirmation.”

      Same here.

      • Raffles says:

That doesn’t mean much. The hotel decides when it processes your bill whether it is a qualifying stay or not.
