  And for cheaper flights to/from TXL, check BHX and MAN. I am doing MAN-TXL-BHX in February, used previous version of these vouchers at £20/€25.

  Thanks Raffles. A couple of small points about using two vouchers to book two one-ways:

  1. Lufthansa only tend to sell cheap one-ways between the UK and Germany, so if you want to fly anywhere other than those two countries a return ticket will almost certainly be cheaper.
  2. Booking two one-ways will incur two credit card fees (£4.50 I think?).
  3. Entering your browser’s “private browsing mode” will allow you obtain the second voucher without the pain of clearing cookies.

  Still a good deal nonetheless.

    debit card payments on LH website don’t incur any fees.

  Just a warning regarding the tip for splitting a UK-Germany return flight into two singles and using a voucher for each leg: I tested it and it seems to be working fine with the online booking system (though obviously I didn’t take the very last step and booked the flights); I identified myself with my M&M number and the system was apparently prepared to accept one voucher each way. BUT I found this in the terms of use: “Limit per promotion is one voucher per person. Lufthansa reserves the right to cancel the booking when the same passenger uses several vouchers.”

  It’s also worth checking the single and return prices in detail, as I found that my chosen flight out was about 25% more expensive if booked on its own, whereas the Euro-denominated flight back was actually about 10% cheaper. And the for the flight originating in Germany only Visa Debit or Electron cards are accepted without a surcharge, no Maestro cards, which will probably add 8 EUR to most bookings.

  In my example, the return flight booked in the UK with a single voucher would have come to £102 and the two singles with two vouchers and one credit card fee to £94, with a risk of cancellation attached. Perhaps not worth it.
