My round-up of Spring hotel promotions has so far taken in Marriott, Starwood and Hilton.

Priority Club, the Holiday Inn / Crowne Plaza / InterContinental loyalty scheme, has also now released its new promotional codes for the coming months.  Tonight, January 7th, is the first qualifying night.

As I posted last week, the bonus points earned from these codes will no longer count towards renewing Gold or Platinum status.  Whilst this is very frustrating, it obviously shouldn’t stop you signing up for them!

If you booked any of the £20.12 rooms for use in January, you should also sign up to one of these codes.  In theory, those £20.12 rooms do NOT qualify for Priority Club points.  However, sometimes the hotel does not code the stay correctly and you do get the points – and it is too late to register for the promotion once the stay has posted to your account.  A friend at the Holiday Inn Commercial Road last week on a £20.12 room found that his stay posted with points.

Here are the four different codes.  You can only register for one of them so pick the one which best suits your stay pattern.

Comment on Flyertalk suggests that – for the first time – some people, especially people with no Priority Club status – are having trouble registering for these codes.  They may not work for everyone.  However, I was not targetted and had no problem registering for 5521.

  • Stay 2 nights and get 2,500 bonus points plus stay 2 more night and get another 2,500 bonus points (maximum 5,000 points) – code 5521
  • Stay 3 nights and get 2,500 bonus points plus stay 3 more night and get another 2,500 bonus points (maximum 5,000 points) – code 5528
  • Stay 5 nights and get 10,000 bonus points plus get another 5,000 bonus points for every further 5 nights you stay – code 3414
  • Stay 10 nights and get 15,000 bonus points plus get another 5,000 bonus points for every further 5 nights you stay – code 3415
  • Stay 15 nights and get 20,000 bonus points plus get another 5,000 bonus points for every further 5 nights you stay – code 3416

You don’t need to be a genius to work out that the only two codes worth registering for are 5521 and 3414!  Light stayers should take 5521, heavy stayers should take 3414.

You can register for the code of your choice here.

These codes are valid for stays from January 7th to April 30th.

Thanks for the prompt, Raffles. I too signed up for 5521.

I also checked my PRC account. I saw your earlier post regarding status changes. The status page previously showed I had earned platinum status for ‘next year’, i.e. 2013.

It now says my plat status expires in April 2013. Harrumph! The status drop kicks in earlier than I expected.

    • Raffles says:

I guess you are an Ambassador? It is your Ambassador status that expires in April. Platinum runs on a calendar year.

      • Roger says:

        Exactly, thanks.

I guess this means the platinum will last until December 2013 to be replaced for me by gold – unless I requalify under the new terms, unlikely at the moment but who knos?

  • gnarly says:

The whole thing is quite shambolic at the moment. I get “Only 15 more qualifying nights or 20,000 more points to maintain Gold Ambassador for next year. ” Gold Ambassador?

Moreover, I cannot get it to display the current promotions in which I am enrolled. I couldn’t use 3414, as I am aparently already signed up. Anyway off to my £20.12 stay in Oxford. Hopefully I’ll get some points as I now cannot actually stay.

    • gnarlyoldgoatdude says:

Data point. Got 238 points for my £20.12 stay. Plus 1000 for another offer. Not great for a no-show, but would have been wonderful if I’d needed it.

  • whiskerxx says:

I get an invalid code message for 3414

  • Rickshaw says:

It accepted me using code 3414 (I will be in Singapore in next month or so) but didn’t see it under “My Offer Status”. Hope for the best 🙂

  • Akhil Gupta says:

    Hi,

I booked this 20.12 rate for Park Plaza last month, I have gold status with priority club – would this bring me any benefits with the 20.12 rate? Or does status not matter with this rate.

    Many thanks

    • Raffles says:

You might get a token ‘something’ – a KitKat or similar! Gold does not have many benefits with Priority Club apart from a 10% points bonus, and in theory you won’t earn points on this rate anyway.

  • Akhil Gupta says:

    Thanks for the info,

Also thank you for sharing the Accor free Platinum status last month. I signed up for that and thought about giving status matching a go.

I emailed hilton hhonors and club carlson (none of which I have any status with). They both gave me gold status for having a screenshot showing accor platinum status. A quick email – only took 24 hours in each case and now I have status. Staying 2 nights in a Hilton in Chicago in Feb, this status will give me a potential room upgrade and breakfast! Then staying in a park plaza in India a few days later – again potential room upgrade!

Again thanks for that post 🙂
