Club Carlson has followed Hilton, Marriott, Priority Club and Starwood in revealing their promotions for the first quarter.

Club Carlson is the loyalty scheme for Radisson, Park Plaza and Park Inn amongst other brands.

It has decided to go the same way as Hilton and launch a promotion which a) is easy to follow and b) kicks in from your first night.

The latter is important, as the Marriott, Priority Club and Starwood promotions all require multiple stays or nights to trigger a bonus.

Very simply, you will earn triple Club Carlson points on every stay between January 8th and March 15th. You must check-out by March 15th, according to the rules, so be careful if booking a long stay near the deadline.

Triple points apply to both the room rate and all spending charged to your room.

You need to register by inputting your details – you will not get the bonus points otherwise.

This deal can be suprisingly generous. Even as a base level member with no status, you will be earning 60 points per $1 with this promotion. At the highest conversion level (100,000 points = 18,000 Avios) you would only need to spend $1,666 (so £1,000) excluding VAT to receive 18,000 Avios.

If you redeeemed for hotel rooms, that same $1,666 ($1,000) of spend would get you 2 x 50,000 point rooms in their most expensive properties, worth £400+. That would be a 40% rebate on your spend.

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Premium status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.
