Interesting Priority Club promo for, ahem, ‘new’ members

Priority Club, the Holiday Inn / Holiday Inn Express / Crowne Plaza etc, loyalty scheme has launched this UK promotion for new members.

Join up, and you get a £25 John Lewis voucher (also spendable in Waitrose) on your 2nd stay.  Both stays must be between 7th January and 30th April, and can be in any group property worldwide.

If your first stay is at a Staybridge Suites or a Candlewood Suites, you get the voucher immediately without needing a second stay.

There is also a double points or double miles option, but I would take the vouchers.

Now, most Head for Points readers will already be a Priority Club member.  However, you could open an account in your partners name in order to pick up the £25.  Then book your rooms under both names, adding yourself as “Additional Guest” and you check in, it is not a problem.

(If you decided to open a second account for yourself, be VERY careful.  Use a different address and pay for your stay using a credit card you haven’t used for a Priority Club stay before.  They WILL close BOTH accounts down if they realise you have a duplicate.  It has happened to me!)

Of course, if you open a new account it will not have status.  You would therefore be giving up any Gold or Platinum benefits (assuming you have status) on these two stays – although you’re probably not missing much, knowing Priority Club.
