Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Did you get a present from Avios yesterday?

Did avios.com send you a little gift yesterday?

My wife got a little package in the post, with a covering letter headed:

We though we’d send you this little note to thank you for collecting so many Avios“.

(It was a shame that on the cover letter, directly above this, it said:  “Balance as at 22 January 2013: 0”.  It would have been better if they had said how many Avios points she collected via avios.com last year!)

And, with the package, came a copy of “Lonely Planet’s Best In Travel 2013“.

Now, as my wife collected over 1 million Avios last year, this book was clearly the best thing they were sending out.  I was therefore intrigued to see elsewhere on the net that other people were receiving gifts of 1,000 or 2,000 Avios deposited in their account.

I wonder who got the book and who got the miles?  And, indeed, what the cut-off was?

Nice thought, though.

I got the book as well, was kind of surprised as I only started to collect in ernest in the middle of last summer, although I did have about 80,000 at one point. Most are spent now though !

  • BA-Flyer says:

Nothing for me, but I did get that book as a free download via the iTunes Christmas promotion!
