Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

I have added Holiday Inn, InterContinental and Crowne Plaza as new affiliate partners

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

On Monday, as I posted on Tuesday, all of the InterContinental Hotels Group brands were removed from Quidco and TopCashback.  You can no longer earn cashback for booking their hotels, unfortunately.

I mentioned in a comment yesterday that I would try to get affiliate links for Head for Points.  I expected it to take a few weeks as I needed to be approved both by their affiliate network and InterContinental itself.  Amazingly, it has been done in 24 hours.

Under ‘Affiliate Partners’ in the right hand margin, you will now see logos for Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Express.  In reality, if you click through that link (which is also here), you can actually book:

  • InterContinental
  • Holiday Inn
  • Holiday Inn Express
  • Crowne Plaza
  • Hotel Indigo
  • Staybridge Suites
  • Candlewood Suites
  • Even Hotels
  • Hualuxe (China only!)

Whenever you book one of these properties, Head for Points will receive a small commission.  You will receive your Priority Club points and other benefits as usual.

There are, unfortunately, no added benefits for you in using our links.  I wish there were.  However, you are helping to support Head for Points and I am very grateful to you.

I will run a catch-up post at the weekend summarising our full affiliate policy and a few other admin bits and pieces.

Thanks for this but it is just a pity that the changes re being communicated badly by ICHG. I have switched all my bookings for 2013 to Hilton and thanks to your site have already achieved gold via the Carlson wagon lit challenge.
Get hilton to offer you same deal and I will gladly book via head for points

    • Rob says:

I already have a Hilton deal! See their logo in the right hand margin.

I’m very happy to use your affiliate links. You have gained me many extra points and helped me towards extra cash back – I’m sure all your readership will be happy to support you this way. Not, I suspect, that I will feel hugely inclined to use IHG a great deal, given the meanness of the company!

  • Moore1984 says:

Ah well…it was good while it lasted. Wouldn’t be surprised if more followed suit, given that Hilton and IHG have both exited in the past year. It seems the only way to generate significant cash sums is via agency sites, where you automatically lose any membership benefits.

As a Uk guy, I travel to the US and use mrrebates.com for groupon etc.. and is giving 6% and payable via paypal.

  • 21h21j says:

How small is the “small commission” and do you get get commission for your own IHG bookings?

It might be time for me start a bleg of my own, as my own the IHG spend could make it worth while.

    • Rob says:

Hmmm … perhaps not then! Commission Junction has its own set of rules, but I admit that this presumably overrides that.
