BAA WorldPoints relaunch (and renaming?) coming soon

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

BAA WorldPoints, the Heathrow Airport frequent shopping scheme, sent out an email to all its members last week saying that the website would be down from May 17th to May 21st for ‘upgrading’.

(Given that it only took me two days to upgrade Head for Points back in February, I worry about who is doing their IT for them!)

The email concludes that:

We look forward to announcing the details of Heathrow’s enhanced loyalty programme very soon

Now, back in December, I received an email from WorldPoints with a questionnaire about various aspects of the programme. One of the questions was whether I liked the sound of ‘Heathrow Rewards’ as a name, or whether I preferred ‘Heathrow Points’? It is worth noting that both of these website names have been registered.

I wouldn’t panic about any aspects of the programme going away. As I wrote recently, the conversion rate from WorldPoints to Avios is being cut from 250:300 to 250:250 from May 14th. That is a sign, though, that the conversion option isn’t going away anytime soon.
