Head for Points reader signol posted this in the Comments section of another post a couple of days ago (thank you!) but I wanted to give it a wider outing.

Amex is currently offering an increased bonus of 25,000 Avios points on the British Airways Premium Plus card. This compares to the standard bonus of 18,000 Avios.

This higher bonus is only available via the American Express mobile site, it seems.

Here is the link – even though it is a mobile site, it will work on any computer.

The offer expires on 31st July. You need to spend £3,000 in three months to trigger the bonus, you need to have £30,000 household income to apply and the card carries a £150 fee.

  • Trevor says:

Typical! I put off ordering the MBNA AAdvantage card until the last minute waiting for a better Avios deal – and here it is, 5 days too late 🙁 Then again, the MBNA AAdvantage card is free and I have less use for those miles, so may just ignore it or come back to it later after ordering and meeting the minimum spend on this – after all, there’s 6 months to achieve it.

  • Rob P says:

The standard BA Amex bonus is listed as being 9,000 Avois now also via mobile

    • Rob P says:

Although it only seems to be 9,000 if access on the mobile site from a desktop – if I access it on my mobile it’s still listed as 3,000. Curious.

  • VS says:

Do you know if you can get both the referral bonus and the applicant’s higher bonus from the above link? When you refer you get a link, so first impulse would be to say no…

  • JF says:

Do you know if the fee will be pro-rata if the card is cancelled?

    • Rob says:

Yes, it should even be written into the terms and conditions, it usually is

  • VS says:

Good spot, Trevor! They just increased this today, as yesterday it was 9k+19k (I checked..)

  • Rob says:

I have just had an email from Amex confirming the 25k and 9k bonuses are ‘official’ and should be showing across all channels.

  • Mr Bridge says:

do you get avios on BAPP when you book a reward flight?

    • Rob says:

Yes, it goes through as ba.com and triggers double Avios on the taxes
