Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

You probably received an email about this promotion directly from British Airways but if you didn’t, here is a quick summary.

British Airways is offering double Avios (that is double base points, ignoring status bonuses) until July 15th on a number of long-haul routes.

Here is a summary of the rules:

You need to be flying in Club World or First (or their American Airlines equivalents)

You must have a flexible or semi-flexible ticket (ie not a non-refundable I-class / R-class in Club World)

You need to travel by July 15th

You need to register in advance of your flight at this website

The most interesting part of this promotion is that in includes the American Airlines-operated routes from Manchester to New York and Manchester to Chicago.

Full terms and conditions, and most importantly the list of participating routes, can be found at the website link above.

Hi Raffles, I cannot acces a link for this? Just missed it with my current trip, always seems to happen that way!

  • Nigel Bond says:

    Hi Raffles,

Just to let you know that the double Avios is double the FULL amount normally earned. I was lucky enough to have a trip to Miami that I booked for work the day after this promotion was announced which the customer funded for Business Class and I paid a small amount to book First Class. I flew last week (it was a real “last minute” thing) and the full double Avios posted when the return flight Avios posted! Thus status bonus IS doubled too. Hope this helps?

    Nigel

    • Rob says:

Thanks Nigel. That is surprisingly generous, it doesn’t normally work that way!
