British Airways is bringing back ‘Silent Picturehouse’ to Vinopolis (by London Bridge, on the South Bank) this Summer.

Never heard of it? This what BA has to say:

BA Silent Picturehouse is returning to the enchanting arches of London’s Vinopolis this summer, where five of the very best travel-inspired films will be shown simultaneously across five screens. All you need to do is decide which of these fantastic movies you wish to watch, and with the aid of wireless headphones you can immerse yourself in the joys of cinema.

British Airways A320

Silent Picturehouse will be showing Skyfall, Top Gun, The Beach, Jaws and the Fans’ choice where you vote for your favourite travel inspired film. The screens show films that evoke travel in different ways and by listening on wireless headphones you’ll be able to recreate an in-flight entertainment experience, helping to carry you away while watching your favourite movie.

There is also a childrens version of Silent Picturehouse running in the mornings:

British Airways have partnered with Disney to also bring you ‘Silent Picturehouse Kids’, a truly magical experience for all the family showing a selection of Disney films across the five screens, including; Up, Cars 2, Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, Oz the Great and Powerful and The Muppets. Popcorn and ice-cream galore with a few treats in store, this is a perfect way to keep the little ones entertained as school’s break up for summer.

The British Airways Silent Picturehouse runs from 22nd July to 26th July, with all five films starting simultaneously at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from 24th June.

There is no news on pricing at the moment. Note that:

Ticket price includes hot-dog, popcorn, ice-cream, a complimentary glass of champagne and pic n’ mix. Drinks may be purchased from the Silent Picturehouse Bar.

Very annoyingly, I will be in the USA that week. It does sound like fun though.

Hi Raffles, i booked tickets today and in the confirmation email they send you a promotional code for this:
Exclusive offer, save an extra £100 per booking on your next European escape Indulge yourself in a little luxury and travel holiday to over 70 European destinations, a long weekend away with friends, romantic break for two or an action packed city break. Book your holiday with us and start your holiday trip in style on board Club Europe, offer includes flights and hotel and ends midnight 31 August 2013. T&C apply.

I’ve also just booked tickets to this and had the discount offer – it’s a bit restrictive though. Only valid for bookings made from 22 July 2013 to 31 August 2013, but on the plus side for travel from 1 September 2013 to 1 May 2014 (which is a pretty broad range to be fair!)

    Lots of requirements though:
    – Minimum 3 night stay
    – Saturday night required
    – 2 adults (or 1 adult plus 1 child) minimum
    – 4 star and 5 star hotels only

So the £100 saving might not go all that far, but for someone already booking a trip that falls within these criteria it might be worth holding off until 22nd July to save some money.
