Good Crowne Plaza deal for BMW owners (or anyone who pretends to be one ….)

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Crowne Plaza, the four-star hotel chain run as part of the Holiday Inn and InterContinental grouping, has an interesting European offer in conjunction with BMW.

If you book a Crowne Plaza stay at a European property via this special BMW link, you will receive:

Room upgrade on arrival, subject to availability

Free Club Lounge access, if the hotel has one

Free wi-fi for 1 day (if you stay longer, you only get it for 1 day!)

The conditions are:

You must book and stay by the end of 2013

You must show your BMW car keys at check-in

You must book seven days in advance

You must stay a Friday, Saturday or Sunday

The promotional rates are Advance Purchase and are non-refundable

If you have Priority Club status (Gold or above) you will receive free wi-fi at Crowne Plaza hotels from 1st July anyway.

The core benefit would be the Club Lounge access, which would provide you with free breakfast in the lounge and evening drinks (and possibly snacks).  However, not all Crowne Plaza hotels have a lounge and not all of them are open at weekends anyway.  Some hotels – if the lounge is closed at weekends – will give you free breakfast in the restaurant instead.

Having checked a couple of hotels, the price charged is the same as the usual Advance Purchase rate.  It does therefore represent a genuine deal if the hotel has a decent lounge.

Will they really ask to see BMW keys at check-in?  Who knows.  See the Comments below for a link to a £2.95 ‘buy it now’ BMW key-ring on eBay, with unlimited quantities available.

Slight flaw being they want to see the BMW key – modern ones are quite distinctive and the older ones are branded BMW as well (at least my 16YO BMW at our place in the sun is lol)

Just tell them it’s in for a service? I think they’d be unlikely to turn you down.
