Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Tesco now giving 4,800 Avios / 5,000 Flying Club miles with Diablo III purchases

Yesterday was one of those odd days.

On Friday night I wrote an article about pre-ordering video game Diablo III from Tesco Direct which was offering 1,000 bonus Clubcard points (2,400 Avios).

When I woke up on Saturday morning, with the post live, the bonus was down to 500 points and the deal didn’t make sense financially.  I was very grumpy (I can change the site but I can’t recall 1,200 emails).

Then, during the day, it went up again.  Not to 1,000, but to 1,500 Clubcard points.

And now, it is giving 2,000 bonus points per copy.

2,040 Clubcard points – over 5,000 Avios in total – is a great deal for a £40 video game which should resell for £30 on eBay with little trouble.

Do NOT order more than one per person as Tesco has, of late, been cancelling multiple orders.  Remember the Dan Brown book etc.

  • Rob says:

Don’t forget to see if code TDXR-THNR works for you as well (does for some, not others) for another £5 off!

    • Stephen says:

Doesn’t work for me, must be linked to some accounts.

    • flyoff says:

The £5 voucher relates to a targeted unique code if you have a Tesco credit card when you spend £30. Check your emails if you have a Tesco credit card for your code. The voucher is valid three times until the end of July.

      • flyoff says:

From other poster comments the codes are targeted rather than unique. Try TDXR-TRMP.

        • Stephen says:

TDXR-TRMP is also targeted. Must be because I don’t have a Tesco credit card.

      • Rob says:

I’ve got a Tesco credit card and it didn’t work for me!

  • Liam says:

Just ordered – worked fine for me (missed the bit about the extra £5 off, so didn’t get to try that). Great spot!

  • Roger says:

    Just done than Raffles, Cheers.

  • Johnny5a says:

    Thanks – just done

  • James67 says:

Sorely tempted but with 3V cards readily available in my area to cycle through my NS&I account at 7200 avios/ £1000 it takes the gloss off anything else at the moment.

  • Dan says:

Thanks raffles, Just ordered this morning and all ok. Missed the £5 off though.

  • Dudeabides says:

    Thanks Raffles,
    Just jumped on it 🙂

  • Simon says:

Thanks, I wonder what Tesco are playing at, hopefully it’ll be up to 2540 points tomorrow!
