Decent IHG Rewards Club promotion with Hertz

It isn’t just airlines who have partnerships with the car rental companies. Some of the hotel groups do too.

The downside is that the deals are usually rubbish.  IHG Rewards Club offers just 125 points per day when you rent with Hertz. I would value this at about 60p – a substantially worse deal than getting 500 airline miles.

Until December 31st, though, IHG Rewards Club is offering 1,000 bonus points when you rent with Hertz. This is on top of the usual 125 per day.

I would value 1,000 IHG Rewards Club points at £5, so you are no worse off than taking 500 airline miles. I don’t know if these IHG points count for status – I would imagine that they do, but please let me know if you know for certain.

Full rules etc are in the link above. There is no minimum rental period.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to split a booking ie, on a 3 day hertz booking, have hertz put two days towards a VA account (as they’re offering a brilliant deal throughout 2013) and 1 day towards a IHG account?

I assume the 1000 bonus is PER BOOKING, not per DAY?
