Get a 15% discount code off British Airways long-haul, ex Europe

British Airways has launched another of its occasional discount codes.  This one works nicely – giving you a 15% discount on long-haul economy flights – but is restricted to flights priced in Euro.

The rules are simple:

You must book before December 20th on ba.com

Your flight must be priced in Euro, which means it must depart from a Eurozone airport such as Amsterdam, Dublin or Paris

Economy class flights only

Long-haul flights only

The discount works for up to 9 people per booking

The discount applies to the TOTAL cost of the booking, including taxes

It appears to be valid for departures up to the end of March, having tried a few random dates

The British Airways promotional code you need is BADISCOUNT01.

You may think that this isn’t useful to you because you live in the UK.  However, remember that connecting through London escapes Air Passenger Duty as well as saving you the 15% (although the base fare itself may be higher or lower than a ticket starting in London).

You can also build in stopovers.  Coming home, you could build in a long gap between landing in London and flying back to Dublin / Amsterdam / Paris etc.  This means that a) you would get your luggage back in London and b) you would have a ‘free’ one-way ticket back to Europe for a future date, if you chose to use it.

In general, you may struggle to get great value from this discount, but it is worth playing around with it if you have some long-haul travel planned.
