Can I get free wi-fi at Heathrow Airport?

Access to decent free wi-fi can make a long airport wait more bearable.  Luckily, Heathrow Airport has invested a lot of money in this area in recent years and you will not be short of options.

Free wi-fi is available in all terminals for 45 minutes.  I have generally found the signal to be OK.

The good news is that there is an easy way to double your free surfing time to 90 minutes.  All you need to do is sign up for Heathrow Rewards, the loyalty scheme for people who shop at Heathrow.

Heathrow Rewards

Membership is FREE and you can sign up here.   You don’t need to wait for your card to arrive – once you have the membership number, you can enter it during the sign-up process for Heathrow airport wi-fi and you will automatically be given extra time.

Another option is to piggy back on the free signal from one of the airport lounges for business class passengers.  You will need a password for this, but these are often available online at forums such as Flyertalk.  The British Airways password is always a major city, often ‘vancouver’.

Finally, there are ‘pay as you go’ computers in all Heathrow terminals.  You can use cash or credit cards to operate these.  These terminal maps show you where to find them.
