New £9.50 redspottedhanky vouchers for Sun+ members

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Back in December, I ran this article which promoted a £9.50 redspottedhanky.com train ticket voucher for joining Sun+.

The offer is now back – a further 10,000 redspottedhanky.com vouchers are now available.  The deal started today and will carry on until all 10,000 are exhausted.

Sun+ is the new online subscription site for The Sun newspaper.  Sun+ only costs £1 to join for the first month.  However, you need to cancel within 1 month or you will be charged £8.67 per month going forward via your credit card.

If you join today, you will be able to claim a £9.50 redspottedhanky voucher immediately, although they will take a couple of days to show on your redspottedhanky account.  These need to be spent by 21st April  so don’t bother with this if you won’t be booking a train ticket before then.

The offer gets better though!

Until tomorrow, TopCashback is offering £10 back when you join Sun+!

There was previously a minimum 2-month sign-up period required to trigger the TopCashback money.  However, this clause no longer appears.  Even if it did require 2 months, you are easily in profit.

This is how it goes:

Sign-up to Sun+ via TopCashback and earn £10 cashback

(If you are not already a member, using my refer-a-friend link before the end of Monday will get you 500 Clubcard points when you earn £10 which you will do with this one transaction.  Full details here.)

Pay £1 for your first month of Sun+

Claim your £9.50 redspottedhanky.com train ticket voucher

Cancel your Sun+ account within the next month (must be done via their ‘Live Chat’ function online)

There are other ‘Sun Plus perks’ that you will be able to claim as well during your first month, so you may well be able to pick up another deal as well.

The full cancellation rules are:

You can cancel your Sun+ membership any time by giving 5 days notice before your next payment is due. Your Sun+ membership will also expire if you have been collecting Sun+ Codes and you don’t collect enough codes in a month. You can cancel your Sun+ membership by contacting one of our online advisers.

Silly question but where is the link to claim the train voucher? I didn’t find one except one for back in 2013

    Thank you

    • Raffles says:

It is on the Perks page for this week, oddly down at the bottom. Works fine, I have already done it .

  • Kathryn says:

How soon can you join Sun+ again? I joined in December but cancelled after getting the vouchers – can I join again now or is there a time interval to observe?

    • John says:

      Doubt it.

Use a 3V card to pay, then you can’t even get billed for the second month if you have emptied the card.

  • scroogemcduck says:

Still waiting for the Tesco voucher.

Possible one of the worst subscription services I have ever seen.

  • Oliver says:

Can you cancel the sun+ account immediately after you sign up and still get the cash back or do you have to stay for a set amount of time?

    • Rob says:

I think you need to wait a couple of days because you cannot cancel the account until it has been properly set up!

  • mackemcat says:

I can’t seem to get redspottedhanky to accept the Offer Validation Code – any hints?

    • Trickster says:

Having the same issue. It says in the instructions on the sun page that it will be turned into an e-voucher by 28th Feb. I’m not getting a confirmation that I’ve successfully validated it.

    • Rob says:

In what way? You put it in the box, click return, and thats it. Nothing happens! But the voucher will turn up in a few days.

  • east says:

I cannot add the offer validation code as the one from O2 promotion is still there (even though I already received voucher and event spent it). When I put sun+ code and press update it works but then when I go back to personal details page the O2 code is there…

  • Gabbai says:

I am now on holiday for another week. I joined up and tried to access the offer but the Sun tells me “Sun+ Perks offers are available to all Sun+ members that live and are based in the UK and NI only. They can’t be viewed by non UK residents or UK residents overseas.” Hope the redspottedhanky offer still has vouchers left by the time In get back next week!

    • squills says:

They won’t. Offer will have expired.

So maybe you could get a friend to help you out?

It seems there are still plenty of vouchers around at the mo.

Or else explore proxy servers and just pretend you are in the UK.

  • Bialynia says:

Got the £9.50 RSH ticket overnight, although no sign of the £10 Amazon voucher promised within 14 days of signing up to Sun+. That was 22 days ago now, cancelling Sun+ before it charges for another month, just being registered to it without even reading it made me feel dirty.
