PartnerPlusBenefit – the Star Alliance equivalent of the British Airways On Business scheme, aimed at companies in the UK and Ireland – has launched a decent ‘double points’ promotion for transatlantic travel.

Between now and the end of June, you will earn double BenefitPoints when you fly from or to the USA. This is valid whether you fly with United (the obvious option from London), Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian or Brussels Airlines.

Registration is required via the PPB website.

As BenefitPoints are redeemable for quite a few useful things – see below – it makes sense to register your business if you have a US trip on a Star carrier coming up.

If your company is not already a PartnerPlusBenefit member, you can receive 2,000 BenefitPoints simply for signing up.

You receive 1,000 points immediately upon registration, and – until the end of March – a further 1,000 points when you register a credit card number.  The scheme uses registered payment cards as one way of tracking flights to credit to your account, and will work whether you book direct or via a travel agent.

Note – for technical reasons, you may only receive 500 extra points when you register your credit card.  If this happens, send an email to PPB and they will add them manually.

The 2,000 bonus points for signing up are enough for a one-way upgrade to business class within Europe.  It is also enough for a £50 Global Hotel Card gift card, redeemable against most hotels offered by Orbitz.  There are also options to redeem for airport transfers with CTS Chauffeur Services (from 1,000 points) and Heathrow Express tickets.

PartnerPlusBenefit is part of AwardWallet so you can keep track of your points easily via their app or website.

      I thought that at first too, but at the bottom of the page there’s a link to a sign up page, I was able to complete it online via this.

    Can’t seem to get points for registering credit card. What is their email address?

    OT: re Amex platinum, can gold refer for platinum?
    Also, does their travel insurance cover someone with high blood pressure?

      Yes, Gold can refer Platinum.

      Insurance docs are on the Amex website, look for the Platinum page and click View Important Information at the bottom. One of the links that pops up is the insurance T&C’s.

      There should be a PPB email address on the site somewhere? I know others have emailed successfully to get the additional 500 added.

    I signed up a few weeks ago when you first posted about it. Got 1000 points signup bonus, but haven’t had anything through for entering credit card details. How long does it normally take to get the 500/1000 for that?

      I am told you get 500 automatically for registering a credit card and a further 500 if you email to ask for it (if it does not go on automatically, which I am told is likely to be the case.)

    I signed up this morning and got the 1000 instantly . emailed partnerplusbenefithelpdesk@dlh.de
    regarding the missing credit card points and have just received reply that the points are in. A quick update on Awardwallet confirms the 2000 points are in my account.

    Points can also be used for Airport parking at all UK airports. 2000 points gets upto 14 days free parking.
