UPDATE – APRIL 2024:  This article is now out of date, but don’t worry.  We produce a monthly summary of the top hotel bonus point offers – please click HERE or use the ‘Hotel Offers’ menu above.

Marriott Bonvoy is offering 1,000 bonus points per night and double elite night credits on stays between 13th February and 29th April. Click here to read more and click here to register.

Keep up to date with new hotel offers by signing up for our free daily or weekly newsletters.

Starwood, the Sheraton / W / Westin / Aloft / St Regis etc hotel group, has announced its Spring promotion for Starwood Preferred Guest members.

Called ‘Earn Away’, it wins prizes for simplicity if nothing else:

Earn double SPG points on all stays between 1 May and 31 July

Earn triple SPG points on all stays between 1 May and 31 July if your stay includes a Sunday (Saturday in Middle East)

Starwood SPG

The only rules you need to bother about are:

Registration closes on 30 June, even though the promotion runs for a month more

140 hotels are not taking part

Only base points are doubled, not any elite status bonus

Unfortunately, a lot of UK hotels are on the non-participating list.  These are:

  • Sheraton Grand Hotel & Spa, Edinburgh
  • Le Meridien Piccadilly
  • Sheraton Heathrow Hotel
  • Sheraton Skyline Hotel London Heathrow
  • The Park Lane Hotel, London
  • The Park Tower Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, London
  • Turnberry Resort, a Luxury Collection Resort, Scotland
  • W London – Leicester Square

That leaves just the Aloft at the Excel Centre as the sole participating UK hotel!

If you think there is even an outside chance that you might have an SPG stay before the end of July, you should register via this website.

I will also add the promotion to our ‘Hotel Offers‘ page, alongside the current offers from all the other chains.

I feel bad for the other 2 posts today – they seem a bit neglected!

    • Alan says:

Indeed – and I’m very glad for Gmail’s ‘mute’ function for conversations given the hundreds of email alerts coming in on the competition thread! (I’m subscribed to all comments)

You must get a lot of emails by subscribing to all comments Alan!

I have a stay booked at a Sheraton in Poznan in June so double points are handy. I won’t be switching any stays to SPG hoteIs as a result of this promo though.

    • Rob says:

It was done on purpose – I deliberately kept Avios posts off today!
