Club Carlson, the Radisson / Park Plaza / Park Inn hotel group, has launched a generous weekend promotion for selected hotels in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

You will earn 20,000 Club Carlson bonus points for a two night weekend stay.

I value Club Carlson points at £5 per 1,000, so this is effectively £100 of free stays to use in the future.  You could pay not much more than this – and potentially less – for your two nights.

You can also convert 20,000 Club Carlson points into 2,000 Avios points.  I do not recommend this, because you are losing about 80% of the value compared to using them for hotel rooms, but the option is there if you want it.

Full details of the promotion can be found here.

Here are the rules:

You must book before May 31st

You must stay before July 1st

You must check-in on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday

You must stay at least two nights

The list of participating hotels can be found here.  It is fairly long, but the London properties are an obvious omission.  I’m not sure that even 20,000 points would persuade me to spend a weekend away in Peterborough, however ….

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards

How to earn Radisson Rewards points and status from UK credit cards (April 2024)

Radisson Rewards does not have a dedicated UK credit card. However, you can earn Radisson Rewards points by converting Membership Rewards points earned from selected UK American Express cards.

These cards earn Membership Rewards points:

Membership Rewards points convert at 1:3 into Radisson Rewards points which is a very attractive rate.  The cards above all earn 1 Membership Rewards point per £1 spent on your card, which converts to 3 Radisson Rewards points.

Even better, holders of The Platinum Card receive free Radisson Rewards Premium status for as long as they hold the card.  It also comes with Hilton Honors Gold, Marriott Bonvoy Gold and MeliaRewards Gold status.  We reviewed American Express Platinum in detail here.

I see Club Carlson are confident how the vote will go in September. Scotland is listed seperate from the UK. 🙂

Evidently Aberdeen is not a part of Scotland … poor Scotland they thought they had all the oil and become the new Norway but not.

Thanks for this, I had a 2 night reservation using the 241 rate at the Radisson Blu in Sofia for June but I notice this promo is only valid on new bookings so I’ve just rebooked. The 241 rate worked ok for the 3 nights for 38,000 promo so hopefully it will work for this one.

  • Dave Williams says:

mmmm interesting. Do you think we have to book through the CC website or could I use a corporate tool? Rate appears the same but shouldn’t be naughty and book direct or HR will be sad/mad….

  • Mark says:

Should this stack OK with their 2-4-1 and 4-4-2 weekend offers (if you can get one)?

    • Raffles says:

Good question. If the 241 is counted as 2 nights then it should work.

  • Moonman85 says:

thanks for the heads up on this. made a last minute switch for a weekend in oslo to a Radisson and got over 30,000 for the weekend. Should set me up nicely for 3 budget nights at the park inn in rekyjavik later in the year!
