My round-up of Spring hotel promotions has so far taken in StarwoodHilton and Hyatt.  Click on the links to read my articles on what they are offering.

IHG Rewards Club, the Holiday Inn / Crowne Plaza / InterContinental loyalty scheme, has also now shown its hand.

It has gone back to the tried and tested ‘Stay x, get y’ promotion.  This ran quarter after quarter for a number of years before IHG decided to start trialling complex schemes like ‘The Big Win’.

As some of you may not have seen this sort of promotion before, I will run through it briefly:

IHG has sent a range of emails to members – you may not even have received anything at all.

These emails offer a variation of ‘stay x nights and you will receive a bonus of y points’.

Irrespective of which promotion – if any – you received, you should be able to register for ANY variant, although people are reporting some issues this time around.

The skill is therefore in picking the code which maximises the number of points you can earn whilst being certain you can achieve the number of nights before September 2nd.

Looking through the list of codes posted on Flyertalk, this is what appears to be circulating.  The codes in bold are the only ones worth considering.

Stay 3 nights for 5,000 points – 7057, 7093

Stay 4 nights for 5,000 points – 5152

Stay 7 nights for 10,000 points – 2281, 4989, 5989

Stay 8 nights for 10,000 points – 5155, 7052

Stay 10 nights for 10,000 points – 4985

Stay 12 nights for 10,000 points – 4987, 5156

Stay 15 nights for 15,000 points – 2113

Stay 18 nights for 15,000 points – 1029, 5153, 6340

You can register for the code of your choice here.   Remember that you can only pick ONE code.

Some people are finding that it is not possible to register for ANY of the codes.  IHG has admitted to IT problems when these codes were released on Thursday but it thinks they are now fixed.  You may or may not agree.

These codes are valid for stays from May 15th to September 2nd.  Only cash nights count towards your target, and your bonus will post alongside the points from the stay which triggers it.

IHG One Rewards update – April 2024:

  • Clive J says:

I got a Stay 4 get 5k offer with code 5152 so will probably try to register for the better deal above. Also have a 1k per stay for next 60 days under 6636 that might still work. Received it a couple of months ago but haven’t registered yet.

  • Rda says:

Registered for stay 3 nights collect 5000 points using the code 7057

I’m not quite sure that I would have stayed for 10 nights, got 7 reservations booked

    • Brian says:

If you’ve got 7 reservations booked, that is presumably a minimum of 7 nights – so why didn’t you go for the ‘Stay 7, get 10,000 points’??

  • John says:

I’m not going to have any paid nights at IHG for a long time, as my Big Win got me 12 free nights.

Unlike some people I usually spend at most 8 hours in a hotel before moving on, most of it asleep, therefore 10K-20K redemptions are where it’s at for me :p

  • Loreen says:

I have a 9 night stay coming up from 10 May to 19 May. As its overlaps the beginning of the promotion (15 May), when I check out, will that count as a a 7 night stay or a 3 night stay for the purposes of the code I should use? Thanks!
