Exclusive HfP competition: Win 20,000 IHG Rewards Club points

I’m delighted to launch another exclusive Head for Points competition today.  One lucky reader is going to walk away with 20,000 IHG Rewards Club points!

20,000 IHG Rewards Club points will get you:

four PointBreaks nights if you save them for the next round of super-discounted redemptions

a free night at a Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express in a ‘non-prime’ location (eg not London, New York etc)

40%-50% of a reward night at a top-end IHG property such as the luxurious InterContinental Amstel in Amsterdam which I reviewed recently, or one of the InterContinental hotels in Paris, New York, London etc.  You could top up your account with the sign-up bonus for the IHG Rewards Club credit card or by buying points.

4,000 Avios points – or 4,000 miles in most other major airline schemes – if you don’t want a hotel stay

You can find out more about IHG Rewards Club at their website here.  IHG Rewards Club points never expire so you have all the time in the world to use them.

The reason for IHG’s generosity is the final week of the ‘IHG Minute Millionaire’ competition.

Before I talk about how to enter the Head for Points competition, let me remind you how to play ‘IHG Minute Millionaire’:

This competition is only open to IHG members in the UK, Germany and Austria.  Each week for five weeks – and this is the final week – one person will win 1 million IHG Rewards Club points. As that would let you check into the InterContinental Park Lane for 20 nights or the Amstel in Amsterdam for 25 nights, that is a pretty impressive prize.

This is how you play ‘IHG Minute Millionaire’:

You need to visit the special website for the competition here before July 5th

You will be presented with images of different IHG rewards.  You must put over 990,000 points worth of items in your basket within one minute.

You are allowed two attempts per week.

The winner will be drawn at random from everyone who completes the task. It is not based on who is the quickest or who gets nearest to 1 million points.

It is easier than it looks. Under the first tab ‘Ready, jet set, go’ are some very expensive flight redemption options. You can easily get to 900,000 by selecting a few of these. You can then pick up some smaller rewards to get yourself into the 990,000 – 1,000,000 points zone.

The game does not end when you have over 990,000 points. You need to let the clock tick down to zero – your entry is then confirmed once you have filled in your details.  With the prize potentially worth £5,000+, it is worth a quick go.

How to win 20,000 IHG Rewards Club points

The special IHG / Head for Points competition is totally separate to ‘IHG Minute Millionaire’.

All you need to do is to leave a comment to this post.  Your post must include the last 3 digits of your UK, German or Austrian home post code – the winner will need to provide an address which matches this post code for IHG to mail you a letter with a redemption code.

Here are the rules:

You must be over 18 years old to enter

You must include a valid email address in the comments form – this is not made public and will not be shared with IHG unless you win

Entrants MUST live in the United Kingdom, Germany or Austria (these are the same countries that can enter ‘Minute Millionaire’)

You do not need an IHG Rewards Club account to enter – the winner can open one later if required

You do not need to have played ‘IHG Minute Millionaire’ in order to enter – but IHG hopes you will!

Strictly one entry per household

The closing time is midnight UK time on Friday July 4th

The winner will be picked at random from all comments received

IHG will aim to add the points to the winners IHG Rewards Club account within 14 days

Under UK law I am obliged to make the name of the winner, but not their address or any other information, available to anyone who requests it from me in writing

The joint promoters of this competition are Head for Points and IHG Rewards Club

Good luck!  Remember, all you need to do is reply to this post before midnight on Friday with the last three digits of your UK, German or Austrian postal code.  Nothing else is needed although feel free to add any random comments if you like!
