  Just a word of warning – be very careful that you choose an eligible rate otherwise you won’t earn Avios points. For example, I stayed at the Atlantic in Jersey, choosing ‘the Atlantic Hotel Half Board Rate’ and subsequently found this was in eligible for points. It has to be ‘Best Available, Club or SLH prepaid rate’.

    How is the Atlantic these days? We stayed about 8 years ago, pre kids, just after it had been refurbished. In terms of room quality and staff quality it was among the best I have ever experienced in the UK (let’s not argue whether Jersey is in the UK!) although the rooms were not huge. And you do effectively have that huge beach to yourself.

      Still as good as ever, the rooms have recently been refurbished. The Michelin starred restaurant is exceptional. Perhaps time for a return visit?!

  I already have a booking to Baros in Maldives for honeymoon – with a loved membership via amex plat am I likely to get an upgrade at such a resort? Do people have good experience with getting upgrades in general with SLH?

  I cannot find a link on the Amex plat site, but I may just not be looking in the right place!

    It isn’t on the Platinum website. You need to use the link above – Amex did send out an email about this ages ago but it may be before you got your card.

      Thanks Raffels,will use link. Have had Platinum Amex for 15years but still seem to get more info from HFP than by email from Amex!!!

  SLH does not accept club memberships anymore: “Due to technical issues we are currently unable to accept any new registrations for The Club of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. We apologise for any inconvenience this causes.”
