New American Express statement credit offers launched

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

A batch of new ‘statement credit’ offers appeared on my American Express online account yesterday.

If you have a Gold, Platinum, BA, SPG, Nectar or other Amex-issued Amex card, you should have a look and register for any of those which interest you.  Most have a cap on the number of participants.

You will find the offers on the online statement summary pages down at the bottom.

This is what has appeared across my cards:

Gap – spend £50, get £15 back

25,000 cards only / ends 4 October

House of Fraser – spend £50, get £10 back

25,000 cards only / ends 4 October

TopShop – spend £50, get £15 back

25,000 cards only / ends 5 October

Sunglass Hut – spend £100, get £10 back

No cap / ends 4 October

The Ryanair deal that I mentioned earlier this week is still available (£10 back on any transaction) as well as £10 back with a £60 spend at World Duty Free before 30 September.

Rob: This page has the IHG title. Thought I was going crazy for a minute.,

    • Raffles says:

Argh. Something went odd when writing this and the article suddenly gained the IHG headline. I corrected that, a weird WordPress bug, but missed the slug.

Cannot change it now as the Twitter feed etc all link to it.

  • Ant says:

Gap have a 30% off this weekend. Combine that with the Amex offer and you can get a very good deal.

    • jotaele says:

Is this instore? website? all products or just some ranges?

Can you provide more info please?

  • Ant says:

Apologies I was running late for an appointment.

I received an email this morning from Gap, this link should work
    http://view.email.gap.eu/?j=feb9127970670375&m=fe9c13707564037c71&ls=fe26157277620374761176&l=ff66107575&s=fe2a15727066077f731d77&jb=ff3616707066&ju=&tid=guem002062&EV=GUKUKMKTUK09042014&DI=128205574&CD=GNC_GPR

Looks like if you buy 6 items you get 50% – combine it with the Amex offer and £100 of items will cost you £35!

Offer is online and in store.

    • M says:

      I think it’s 30% and then another 20% i.e. not 50%

    • Fenny says:

Flippin’ frustrating on the Gap site that a stupid pop up keeps popping up every single time you load any page. Even when you sign up, it still comes up. It’s so annoying, I’m less likely to buy anything from there.

  • Scott says:

I can’t seem to find the place to register for this (BA premium plus) – could someone give me an idiot’s guide to registering? (usually works ok, but can’t find “your offers” or equivalent anywhere….)

  • Scott Nelson says:

Thanks Martin. Saved me a load of hassle this afternoon.

  • Gary says:

    Hi Martin,

I’m a bit worried. I took it your post meant I can buy £50 voucher on Topshop website and get the £15 statement credit? Its just that the £50 voucher itemised is marked on my Amex account as being from VOUCHEREXPRESS.CO.UK. Is that a problem?

Perhaps I needed to buy in store?

Have you any idea if I got this wrong?

    Gary

    • martin says:

Gary: I’m afraid it sounds like you’re not going to get the statement credit for those ones. I hadn’t realised that Topshop used an external site to sell vouchers online. You’d need to go to an actual Topshop store to buy the vouchers to make sure that it shows up as Topshop on your statement.

You might want to contact Voucherexpress to see if you can cancel the order before it’s dispatched. Worst case scenario is that you’ll be left with £50 of Topshop vouchers (which you’ll hopefully still be able to spend in Arcadia stores), but I guess that’s not the end of the world!

      • Gary says:

        Hi Martin,

Not without my 30% discount 😉

I wouldn’t have thought it would be too much trouble to cancel. Sent them an email we’ll see.

        Cheers

  • Jose says:

    Good afternoon all.
I am a novice in this site and I am looking for some help and advice.
At the beginning of the year I applied for the amex platinum and following raffles advice then apply for the cathway pacific gold card. I have not had the chance to do a full use of it as yet.
We have booked BA flights for February 15 using companion ticket.
My question is what do I need to do in order to be able to reserve seats using the Cathway card. I guess I need to register the card but so far I’ve been unsuccessful.
    Any help will be appreciated.

    • Rob says:

Go to the Qatar website (yes Qatar) and use Manage My Booking to bring up your BA reference. Add your Cathay number. Wait half an hour. Pull up booking on BA.com using booking reference. Seat selection should be possible.

        Tricks of the trade 😉

        • Alan says:

The Finnair website should also work for this – or at least it used to 🙂

          • andrew s says:

Royal Jordian is very straight forward. If you have a BA number already attached the finnair adds rather than replaces the cathy number, preventing seat selection…
