Hertz has launched another aggressive promotion in conjunction with Iberia Plus.

(Remember that Hertz is not a British Airways Executive Club partner, so the only way of earning Avios with a Hertz rental is to credit it to an Iberia account.  You can then move the Avios to BA or avios.com using ‘Combine My Avios’.)

Until December 20th you will earn TRIPLE Avios points on a rental of 3 days or more.

Paying standard rates, you earn at least 300 Avios per day – and up to 450 for a larger car.  During this promotion, you will be earning 900 to 1,350 Avios points per day.

Further details can be found on the Iberia website.

Wow, pretty generous, will consider for a 2 week trental in Nov in Florida

  • RogerWilco says:

Sounds good, but – I have reservations about crediting anything to IB, in case they don’t post. I’m not ready in body or mind to chase any avios with IB customer service. Call it a prejudice, if you will.

Hertz rentals are also 1100 VS FC miles, which seem to credit seemlessly.

  • Globetrotter7 says:

I booked this deal last week through Iberia Plus. I’m expecting 2700 avios for a 3-day rental next weekend on AMS. It says that Avos will be credited within 72hrs max on their website. Let’s wait and see!

  • JQ says:

Got 300 avios / day credited to IB within 1 week after return, (Christmas 2013 rental)

  • Trevor says:

I done a few of theses specials previously, and I’ve had to chase everyone to post!

  • Susan says:

Out of approx 6 rentals, I’ve only had to chase up 1 for correct number of bonus Avios.
On a separate note, I’m having difficulty using the IB promotion code with my Amex Plat CDP. Can these be chained or is it 1 or the other? i’d Like to be able to use the Hertz 5star service for quicker transaction at airports.

  • Cambus says:

I’d be wary of crediting anything to Hertz or IB. I’m still waiting for points to post from July this year. Hertz’s retroactive credit option on their website is useless: two automated posts denying me points for seemingly random, and incorrect reasons (dates not matching, wrong type of car). After two weeks I finally got a reply from Hertz Customer Service saying they would credit points, but I might need to wait six weeks! If they don’t appear, more hassle with IB Customer Service. Not worth it in my opinion.

  • Vardster says:

I am renting with Hertz on 18th December in Canada for 18 days. Would I qualify for the full 18 or just the first 3?
