Last week I posted details of an exceptional Avios hotel promotion with Accor.

Accor is the hotel group behind Novotel, Sofitel, Mercure, Ibis and M Gallery, amongst others. It has teamed up with avios.com to offer 2,500 Avios points on stays until the end of the yearYou can read my article on that deal here.

Accor has now released a similar deal for anyone who has a Lufthansa Miles & More account they want to build up.

It is a similar deal to the Avios promotion but even more generous.  You will earn 3,000 Miles & More miles per stay.  To earn the bonus, you must go to this Accor page and change your account to receive Miles & More miles.  If you are not already an Accor member you can also join via this site.

You do NOT have to register for the promotion itself.  Note that any existing Accor points you have may be converted automatically to Miles & More – this will definitely happen if you have over 4,000 and may happen if you have fewer.

There are minimum stay requirements – 1 night at Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery hotels, at least 2 nights at Novotel, Suite Novotel, Mercure and Adagio hotels and 4 nights at ibis and ibis Styles.

It is not fully clear if you earn the 3,000 miles instead of the standard 500 miles per stay, or on top of them.

Further details can be found here at the Accor website. It states clearly that ‘all room rates are eligible’ – the small print actually excludes airline crew rates and the like, but any standard rate on the Accor website should be OK.

Remember that Accor is also running a UK sale at the moment which would work fine with this.

If you have an Air Canada Aeroplan account, there is an even more generous version of this promotion available which earns 5,000 Air Canada miles per stay.  Full details of that promotion can be found here.

Going to make a big booking soon – do you know if ibis budget also count for accor reward points?

    How is this similar/different from

    https://headforpoints.com/2014/09/04/3000-lufthansa-miles-more-miles-per-accor-hotels-stay/

I noticed that a link from Lufthansa website about this promotion disappeared and the link on Accor shows Lufthansa logo on the right bottom but text does not mention the airline!

I recall the picture on Accor for this promo description is the same as it was on disappeared Lufthansa link.

PS Auto conversion Accor to Iberia was triggered by ANY number of points and followed the posted points in a working day or two.

The tricky part is if one wants to use one stay for 3,000 (2,500+500) Lufthansa promo and another stay for 2,500 Avios promo. Hot-swapping FF account numbers inbetween stays risks the bonus not being posted or posting to wrong FF due to a delay in automatic conversion.

can you break a 4 days break in 2 parts you reckon, with two different reservations?

    • Rob says:

No, hotel will merge into one. Only works if 2nd res is in your partners name and you officially check out (leave stuff in room) after your nights.

  • Simon says:

The Air Canada promo has been pulled, all reservations made up until midnight on 27th will get the points according to what I read.

Very poor in my opinion, I can imagine people will continue to make bookings thinking the promo is still running until Dec 31st. I was about to book a room this evening in fact but luckily something made me double check the promo page when I was on the payment screen and it came up as expired.

Air Canada have a 25% bonus promo on hotel points at the moment also the 10,000 Accor points you got for each stay meant you could get platinum in 3 stays. Seems like this promo was too generous for Accor to continue with it.
