Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Get 1,000 Clubcard points – 2,400 Avios – with LeapPad kids tablet computers

Just in time for Christmas, Tesco is offering 1,000 bonus Clubcard points on £99 LeapPad Ultra XDi tablet computers for children.

(My 3-year old has managed to master a proper adult iPad so why you need specific kids tablets is a mystery to me!)

You can see the offer on the Tesco Direct website here.

Tesco is also offering a discount of £10 when you spend £100 on toys before 23rd November and use code TDX-GWNT at check-out.  It is therefore worth throwing in an extra item to get above £100.  The LeapPad tablets are £90 or £95 depending on colour.

What is interesting is that these tablets are also included in the current Tesco Boost promotion.  You could therefore redeem Clubcard vouchers for double their face value for part or all of the cost and then receive 1,000 bonus points back.  The net cost of the £90 pink tablet would only be 3,410 Clubcard points ie £34 of vouchers assuming you used 4,500 points to pay in full and then received 1,090 back.

The offer runs until tomorrow, 10th November.

Not surprized. On recent visits to Hong Kong I have noticed kids pushchairs with either ipads or android tablets fixed to them to entertain the occupants. What has surprized me more is the degree of proficiency and dexterity some very young kids have with them.

    • Lady London says:

I’ve just got this vision of a mugger grabbing the ipad off a kid’s pushchair and heading off with it! 🙂

    • Fenny says:

Talking to our CTO last week (we’d just had a google hangout with some other staff about reducing travel between sites for meetings) he said his 4 yr old started off with his old ipad and he’s just upgraded her to a refurbished ipad 3 so she can facetime with her grandparents.

We’re the digital delinquents these days!

  • AM says:

If you buy it and then take it back do you lose the clubcard points?

    • James says:

I think it depends on the customer assistant who serves you. I took about a freesat+ box a few weeks ago (for genuine reasons) and the person serving me said she was going to let me keep the points for the inconvenience caused. However I think it is basically down to who is serving you and what mood they are in.

    • Saf says:

From experience grocery shopping refunds do remove clubcard points but from Tesco Direct they are rarely removed. Better to wait until they are used or are converted to Avios

  • Adam says:

Tesco direct refunds always remove the points, if it doesnt happen in a few days it can happen at quarter end so bank on keeping the points. Lots of people used to a few years ago used to take back items to keep points, they tightened their rules and now will take the points back unless of course you take back like above post after vouchers have posted, however your account will be minus the points so only worth it if cashing out points and not planning on using clubcrd again.

  • Adam says:

    1000 points offer now finished.
