  Two further things worth noting:

  1) Combine with the Amex Travel £50 off £150 to get costs even lower

  2) Some other airlines are price matching. I’ve seen some very similar fares from Virgin and Air Canada, amongst others.

      I booked LHR-NRT 04/01/2015 – 11/01/2015 for £2005.60. This was on BA’s website, the prices are fluctuating slightly.

    singapore is a direct flight for 160 e/w points; booked this morning for 1004 return… (albeit on 777-300er not 380 which was more expensive)

    You want to booking a ticket on American Airlines via the AA website. Look for UK (AA flies also from Manchester, Newcastle etc) to West Coast USA or Hawaii. You want each leg to be over 2,000 miles to trigger long-haul tier points. UK – New York – LA is the boring option, something like UK – New York – Miami – LA is more interesting if AA will throw it up and should also price at £1k. You would get First Class tier points in certain scenarios on AA business class tickets but I am not an expert on what triggers that.

      You need to book onto a two-class service to get F TPs on an AA ticket .

    Yes, MAN-HEL-LHR-JFK-PHX-HNL-PHX-JFK-LHR-HEL-MAN for 1440 TP was bookable for about £1007. However, I availability on MAN-HEL-LHR and A/P class availability on PHX-HNL-PHX is all but gone during the period. Consider also BOS instead of JFK and OGG/LIH/KOA instead of HNL.
    For the absolute cheapest deal start your journey in JER. JER-LGW//LHR-JFK-LAX-HNL and return has been reported for under £760. This is because JER avoid APD and using AA codeshares you can eliminate much of the fuel surcharges. That would get you 1060 TP and be relatively comfortable.

    AA uses T3 at LHR and has an arrivals lounge there.

  At one point Singapore was also coming up with the cheap fares. Availability for the cheap fares seem to be almost gone on the routes I checked.

  I have various redemptions over the holidays, I decided not to cancel any of them as BA Club still doesn’t appeal to me – and cancelling CX First would be silly! Especially when, so far, i have the whole First cabin to myself (fingers crossed).

  Regarding the person doing 3 back to back long haul flights on BA Club & over the holidays for GGL – that sounds an awful idea! How many hours in a Club World seat is that?

  Note that for anyone holidaying in Asia, MAS are doing very cheap fares in business class for flights leaving BKK – also works for multi city bookings (e.g. BKK – KUL, stopover, then KUL – HKG etc) and not penalised if just booking one way.

    Dont trust the offer summary page; this morning it showed Singapore at 2500+; still made a booking for 1004 return; there are flights if you make a test booking you will see them on the day by day view.
