  @HeadFor Points: “Welcome Rewards credit will be given as usual” Normally, you never collect Welcome Rewards when using a discount coupon. Is this an exception to the rule ?

  @TomTom: unfortunately, the mobile discount code does not seem to work with the link you provided.

  I am a huge fan of booking through hotels.com and often prefer them above loyalty programs, since you do not limit your choice to one hotel chain and since you can save a lot of money with their Welcome Rewards program (if you use it the correct way: http://theluxurytravelexpert.com/2014/08/15/travel-tip-8-reasons-why-we-love-hotels-com/)

    This is an official code circulated by hotels.com, it is not targetted and I would be very surprised if it did not generate WR credit.

  @HeadforPoints I checked the terms & conditions of the promo code (which only appear once you submit the code at check-out). As expected, it states that the discount coupon is not eligible for Welcome Reward nights. Unfortunately, this is the case with all Hotels.Com discount coupons.
