EXPIRED: Get £5 off a £10 Amazon purchase with Mastercard

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Apologies for this slightly off-topic additional post, but this is an excellent deal which will only be around for a very short time I think.

Amazon and MasterCard are running a great deal today.  You receive £5 off a purchase of £10 or more when you use the code MCARD5OFF.

I have just tested this a few minutes ago and it works fine.

The rules appear to be:

You can only buy items sold by Amazon, not by third parties

You CANNOT buy gift vouchers

£10 is, coincidentally, now the cut-off point for free Super Saver Delivery so you won’t pay any postage either.

You can visit Amazon via this linkHead for Points will make a few pennies (literally!) on your purchase to help keep us ticking over.  Thank you.

It may be obvious to most – but you have to pay using a MasterCard for this offer to be accepted!

However, if you have a large amount of Amazon gift card credit on your account, you can (as I did) pay for the order using gift card balance only, as long as the selected card is the MasterCard.

My order total was about £20 before discount – I ended up paying with £15 on gift cards, and £0 on the MasterCard.

how did you manage this? it tries to take it from master card rather than gift certificates and if i change payment method it doesn’t work

      • Boi says:

figured it out. Used the coupon twice…same mastercard, 2 amazon accounts, nothing paid with master card as I had gift certificates to redeem thanks to hfp and tesco 3V!

  • Godot says:

Just worked fine for me – picked up the third season of Community on DVD for £5! Thanks Raffles!
