Le Club Accorhotels, the loyalty scheme for Sofitel, Novotel, Ibis, Pullman, Adagio, Mercure, M Gallery etc, has launched a new promotion for double points on your next stay.

This could be very lucrative if you are smart. For non-status members, you earn 2.5 points per €1 spent. Each point is worth 2 Eurocents towards future Accor bookings. This means that a non-status member is getting 5% cashback.
Looking at the rules, the ‘double points’ only applies to this base level of earnings. If you are a Platinum member who receives 8.8% back, this will only increase to 13.8% rather than double to 17.6%.
This promotion will run until the end of November 2015. Once you register, it will apply to your next stay as long as that stay is within three months of registration.
The key is to register just before a high value stay. It would be a waste to register just before a €75 Ibis stay if you were planning to spend €1,000 for five nights at a Pullman the following month.
You may, of course, be worried about forgetting about this deal if you do not register for it now. I will be listing it on the ‘Hotel Offers‘ page of Head for Points so – if you don’t register now – hopefully it will stay in front of your mind. You should always take a look at the ‘Hotel Offers‘ page before booking a stay to ensure that you are maximising the current deals.

The small print says that only members who received an email about this offer can register. It was happy to let me register so I am assuming that this rule is not applied in practice. It is worth bearing in mind if you were considering a booking purely to take advantage of this deal however.
