The Jury’s Inn hotel at Heathrow / Hatton Cross reopened on December 10th as the Hilton Garden Inn London Heathrow Airport.

What I like about this hotel is that it is very close – a couple of minutes walk – to Hatton Cross underground station.  This makes it considerably easier to reach than most of the hotels around Heathrow, the majority of which require you to take the Hotel Hoppa bus unless you can navigate the local buses.

Not only is the Hotel Hoppa expensive at £5 per person each way, it can also be incredibly slow as the buses can stop at a number of hotels before reaching yours.

The Hilton Garden Inn is far easier to reach with a very short one or two stop tube journey.

Whilst the hotel now carries a Hilton brand, Jury’s Inn continue to own and manage it.  It has been fully refurbished as part of the rebranding.  One perks is that all guests will receive free wi-fi.

You can find out more at the hotel home page at hilton.com hereIt is priced at 30,000 points per night for a Hilton HHonors redemption – in line with my valuation of Hilton points at 0.3p given the £99 typical price.  However, if it is available for your date, ‘Points & Money’ is a far better deal at just 12,000 Hilton HHonors points plus £32.

Hi folks. My choice as HHonors Diamond and IHG Plat was the CP Heathrow via Bus A10 but after my last stay on the 21st Dec I got a letter saying the lounge access for Plat’s was being stopped due to large numbers of Platinum guest using the hotel!! Although you can still access the lounge for £24. Back to Hilton for me – and hopefully Lifetime Diamond in the 2015 HHonors changes.

This is bad news. Has lounge access already been stopped or is there a date this is effective from?

Effective 22nd December – weird date not even into the new year – oh wait – it was before Xmas and New Years Eve to stop those pesky free loading plats
