Earn 3,000 Virgin Points and get 12 bottles of wine for just £66 via Virgin Wines

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Virgin Red, the app which lets you earn and spend Virgin Points from non-flying activities, has launched a new offer with sister company with Virgin Wines.

If you are not already a Virgin Red member, you can register – free – here.

Virgin Wines had partnered with Virgin Flying Club for a number of years, but the bonus on offer this month is higher than we’ve seen for quite a while.

Virgin Wines

The new offer is here.

For £65.88 (standard price £133.88) you will receive:

  • 12 bottles of wine (a white, red or mixed case)
  • entry into a competition to win a year of free wine or up to 25,000 Virgin Points
  • 3,000 Virgin Points

….. all brought to your door with free delivery.

If you value the Virgin Points at £30, you are paying £36 net for 12 bottles of wine, including delivery, which is clearly excellent value.

As part of the offer, you are signed up to the Virgin Wines Discovery Wine Club.  You can cancel this at any time, but you need to remember to do so or more wine will follow each quarter. To quote:

“With Discovery Wine Club you get a regular supply of outstanding craft wines delivered direct to your door from some of the world’s top independent winemakers.

Earn Virgin Points with Virgin Wines

We will notify you every 3 months (and at Christmas) by email that your next case of wine is ready for delivery, including the contents and the price.

You can skip or cancel any suggested case at any time by responding to our notification before the date stated on the notification. Please telephone our call centre on 0343 224 1044. If we don’t hear from you, we will deliver the case of wine to the selected Discovery Wine Club address and charge your card the notified price of the wine plus £7.99 delivery. The address, Credit/Debit Card details and delivery instructions for your Discovery Wine Club case are specific to these deliveries and may vary from the default details on your account.

Should you wish to cancel your membership of the Discovery Wine Club, you may do so at any time by calling us on 0343 224 1044. If you wish to notify us in writing you may do so by post or emailing us at discoveryclub@virginwines.co.uk.”

The bottom line is that you can easily cancel your membership by sending an email but it will require a small amount of effort.

This offer is only available if you are a new Virgin Wines customer.

You can find out more on the Virgin Red app or on the website here.

The offer ends on 31st July.

Never seen 0 comments on a post? Presumably the wine is so average that it’s not worthy of comment?

    • Rob says:

Bit surprised I admit, given the increased bonus of 3,000 points.

      • ChrisC says:

Surely what matters is page views rather than comments and page click throughs if you get some commission?

Comments are a poor indication on the “success “ of an article given that people posts comments and questions about all sorts of non relevant things or there are multiple posts asking the same question because people don’t read the other comments first or indeed the article properly!

        • Rob says:

Page views were weak too. Not that we chase page views, but it does drive whether we give something a full article or a Bits.

No genius involved here though – BA outranks Virgin, IHG always outranks Accor etc.

  • TimM says:

I can understand the lack of interest.

    1) £65.88/12 = £5.49 per bottle for some unknown wine when safe, trusted, branded wine can be bought at £5/bottle.
    2) 3 000 Virgin Points is currently of questionable value except in Gregg’s sausage rolls and they don’t go well with wine. Trying to redeem with a credit card voucher or on KLM or Air France apparently requires multiple 2-hour phone calls.
    3) You are subscribing to yet another unwanted service that you have to cancel.

    Must do better!

  • WaynedP says:

    Tough crowd these days.

  • Chas says:

Gregg’s sausage rolls go well with everything. Especially a hangover caused by the wine…..

  • yonasl says:

I keep looking at these but cannot see the value of these wines. Plus the hassle of having to cancel afterwards.

As a side note and as a Spaniard living in London for more than a decade now, I must do some chauvinistic propaganda of a website I have been using http://www.vinoseleccion.co.uk

The website is horrible and feels like it was designed in a rush. But they have very good deals from time to time (I tend to go for the mixed boxes for around £60-75 for 6 bottles).
