Win more Qatar Airways economy class tickets to anywhere

If you didn’t win our recent Qatar Airways competition, don’t despair!  Qatar Airways is giving away four pairs of economy class tickets to (just about) anywhere to people who book a Qatar flight between now and March 22nd.

You need to add promo code BOOKANDWIN when booking online.  Full details can be found here at the Qatar website.  Their latest sale deals, valid until March 10th, are here.

Qatar 350

Two Avis offers for bonus Avios

You may have seen the recent emailed Avis offer circulated by British Airways.  It is an OK deal – rent a Class C car for 3+ days before March 31st and receive at least 1,500 Avios.

This comprises 800 bonus Avios and the guaranteed minimum of 700 base Avios (or 3 Avios per £1, whichever is greater).   The deal is not valid in Australia or New Zealand.

Don’t bother with the BA deal though.  Iberia is running an Avis promotion which is better.

For your first rental credited to Iberia Avios before 31st March, you will receive 1,000 bonus Avios.  Your 2nd rental will earn 1,500 bonus Avios and your 3rd rental 2,000 bonus Avios.

This is on top of the standard 500 Avios for 1-2 days or 700 Avios (or 3 Avios per €1, whichever is greater) for 3+ days.

Further details can be found on the Iberia Avis page here.

Flybe London City

20% off Flybe flights, today only

Finally, Flybe is offering a 20% discount on any flights booked today (27th) using the discount code 20AVIS.  You must book for flights between March 15th and May 20th.  Book via flybe.com here.

Note that the prices shown initially do NOT include the discount.  Only when you select a particular flight does the lower price come up.

I wonder if the Etihad double miles promo will work for flights before 31 March which were booked pre-sale?

I can’t see anything in the T&Cs that says they have to be sale tickets.

  • Doodles says:

The general article seems as good a place as any to ask my general question. Please can someone tell me the website where you can find a valid ticket reference – my BA reference is not valid on MH’s website? Also, does anyone know when MH was going to review its European routes? I have a flight ex AMS in August but didn’t know whether to wait a bit longer to see if the route is cancelled before buying my ticket to Amsterdam. Thank you.

    • Alan says:

If your BA reference isn’t working on the MH site then try putting it in to CheckMyTrip.com – if you expand the entry for your MH sector it may then show you the MH booking reference if different.

I had similar thoughts about Malaysia the other day. There was all this talk of cutting routes but nothing has happened (yet?).

    • CV3V says:

Alan’s comments are correct on finding the booking reference, MAS use a different system from BA etc so 2 booking references are generated. But even with the MAS ref number you might find it useless on the MAS website, lack of integration with the one world booking systems (i guess).

Dont hold me to this (!), but i was told (by someone in MAS) that almost all the Europe flights will be kept, including AMS.

Thank you for the helpful replies.

Heathrow Rewards also running a comp for Qatar – pair of economy tix to anywhere on their network.

  • bill says:

I have a car rental with Avis booked via ba.com. Can I update it and credit it to my wife’s Iberia account since that’s a better offer?

  • Chris says:

Etihad sale from AMS is even better, e.g. Sydney in biz for as low as €2,760 (£1,970). This sale seems to match the competing Qatar Airways promotion which has got similarly great deals from AMS.

  • signol says:

Would the Iberia Avis deal include free second driver, as that’s definitely a BAEC perk? I just booked 10 days in South Africa with them, and the added driver will save R279.

  • Lloyd says:

With the Avis deal I was wondering what consitutes 3 days? For instance I’m going to Jersey on the 20th and am thinking of booking car hire from about 8pm. I will then drop the car back off on the 22nd at about 2pm. So less than 72 hours but spans over 3 days.

In my case would the bonus trigger?

Also any idea what the cost is for a zero CDW when booked through BA? It talks about CDW being included but assume the excess is still astronomical. How much is it per day to reduce the excess?

  • mark2 says:

HolidayAutos also sell insurance for the excess
