Think the QF match runs till the 16th.

  • Mikee says:

Is today also the last day to book via Iberia and earn TPs and miles at the old rate before the changes kick in?

    Mikee

  • Dan says:

I get the following message on the poontshound website when I try and sign up for thr virgin miles:
The promo FLYINGCLUB has expired or is no longer active.

Are you sure this is still valid?

    • Rob says:

It was still showing on the landing page last night and was due to end today. Always a chance it was pulled early.

  • louie-m says:

I am mightily peed off that my Platinum card has not turned up despite having applied to upgrade from Gold a fortnight ago. Hubby’s turned up after two days, so I assumed the same would apply to me. Tempted to tell them to shove it now as their delay has cost me 100k Aussie MR points.

    • louie-m says:

Well I just rang Amex to see what the score was. They’ve agreed to honour the offer even though I can’t apply until after the card arrives. Thumbs up to Amex 🙂

  • RickL says:

Ordered 4 supplementary Amex Gold cards last week on my Platinum Account via the link on HFP and they came today! 40,000 expected bonus points not yet showing in my account – do I need to activate the cards or just hang on until it is credited?

    • Rob says:

These points do not post in a hurry unfortunately. No need to activate based on experience of others.

      • Nick Haley says:

Any idea how much of a not-hurry they appear in? … I’m thinking of the pre-BA write down? All 5 Supp. cards arrived today for me.

        • Rob says:

Seems to be about 6 weeks looking at previous comments.

          • Nick Haley says:

Ah thank you – might call to see if I can hurry it! 🙂

          • Gill says:

I’m still waiting on 3 x 10,000 from 18th December. I emailed AMEX and they said its automatic and will be applied before 18th March. 1 x 10,000 was added within 6 weeks.

  • BA-Flyer says:

Slightly unrelated – do Amex still treat foreign currency purchases from Travel Money Now as a spend, rather than advance?
I know they are changing the way Amazon earn Membership Rewards (not classed as foreign spend) so wanted to check if anything else was changing?

    • Rob says:

      Yes, still purchase

      • avidsaver says:

Having looked at past items on HFP please can you kindly clarify. Some people say this type of transaction shows as “finance” and not “purchase”. Does this still earn MR points? Many thanks.

        • Rob says:

Anything via travelmoneynow is treated as a purchase, counts towards any sign-up bonus and earns MR points, Avios or whatever else your card gives.
