News in brief:

1,500 bonus Avios with a flight booking on iberia.com

Until next Tuesday 17th March, you will 1,500 bonus Avios in Iberia Plus when you book a cash flight on iberia.com.  This is not automatic – you need to be logged in to your Iberia Plus account and register via the link under ‘My Promotions’.

Remember that you don’t have just Iberia options on iberia.com.  I know from previous experience that Vueling bookings will receive it, for example.  Any BA flight from the UK to Spain can also be booked on the Iberia site under an IB flight code.

The bonus Avios will be added between April 15th-30th and you can only earn one bonus per account.

20%-50% bonus when you buy Hilton HHonors points

Hilton is currently offering a bonus of 40% when you buy 10,000+ points.  Smaller purchases attract a 20% bonus.

Take a look here.  A 40% bonus, at the highest 80,000 points level, meant 112,000 points for $800.  I wouldn’t value them at more than $550 so this is NOT a route to cheap free nights.

If you need to top off your account to reach a specific target, however, it is worth a look.  It is not clear if this offer is targeted or open to all – you need to take a look.  I wasn’t emailed about it but could buy at this rate.

KLM specials to Singapore and Bangkok

KLM emailed me with details of a special £396 economy fare to Singapore or Bangkok.  You can depart from any KLM airport in the UK.  This is ONLY available until the end of today, Friday.

You can check available dates for Singapore here (mainly May and June) and Bangkok here (May and June also lowest priced).  KLM is a SkyTeam member so you would be earning miles in Flying Blue or another SkyTeam scheme such as those from Delta or Alitalia.

  • Brian says:

Given that Virgin has no hub in Europe, I suppose it’s not entirely unreasonable that they should be leaving the AMEX Euro MR scheme.

Just booked a hotel stay on Kaligo initially showed my 1000 bonus miles then, after confirmation has reverted to showing only the standard booking miles? This is the original issue?
