News in brief:

Accor’s 3-4-2 global sale returns

Accor, parent of Ibis, Novotel, Sofitel (Sofitel St James pictured below), Mercure, Pullman, M Gallery and other chains, has brought back its occasional ‘3 for 2’ sale.

This covers 2,500 hotel globally and offers 3 nights for the price of 2.  You need to book by April 14th for stays until the end of May.

Full details can be found here.

Qatar Airways now flying twice daily from Manchester

Since February, Qatar Airways has been running a twice-daily service to Doha every day, adding four flights per week.

That is a lot of extra seats to fill, so Qatar is currently offering some attractive prices which are only valid from Manchester and only on the new flight.  Fares start at £290 to Abu Dhabi in Economy.

You need to book by 31st March for travel before 30th June.  Full details can be found here.

Aer Lingus new business class

Aer Lingus new business class availability

Aer Lingus has one of the best Avios redemptions – just 50,000 Avios and roughly £75 of tax for a return BUSINESS CLASS flight from Dublin to Boston.  This will jump to 75,000 Avios from 28th April.

According to this US article, a lot of availability has recently opened up for Aer Lingus over the Summer on this route.  Do read the comments though before you ring BA and try to book as British Airways does not have access to the same availability offered to United.

You can learn more about booking Aer Lingus redemptions in this ‘Avios Redemption University’ article.

The new Aer Lingus business class looks pretty good – here is a video showing it in action and there is a photo above.

Get 15% off Hotel Tonight over Easter (and £15 credit)

Finally, the ‘book no earlier than seven days in advance’ hotel app Hotel Tonight is offering 15% off all bookings of two nights or more over Easter when you use promo code EASTER15.  This is for check-ins between April 2nd and April 5th.  Hotel Tonight has good coverage in Europe and North America.

If you’ve not used Hotel Tonight before, you can get a £15 credit – which should double-up with this offer – by adding code RBURGESS15 when you download the app and register.  This is my refer-a-friend link, although I don’t receive anything unless you make a booking.

I used Hotel Tonight over Christmas and it was noticeably cheaper than the rate quoted by the hotel on its own website, although you should always compare prices before booking.

150,000 avios return to Boston in business after April 28th… Not sure what that works out in terms of value per avios? Any thoughts?

  • Kai says:

Just tried HotelTonight. The discount code applies to the ex-tax portion only so it’s less than 15%.
