Another discount route for Sofitel Heathrow Terminal 5 and a Sofitel Gatwick deal

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

I wrote last week about how the Sofitel Heathrow hotel, the five-star directly connected to Terminal 5, was being offered cheaply via lastminute.com and their ‘top secret hotels’ programme.  You can read about that deal here.

If the lastminute.com deal is not available for your travel dates, it is worth noting that Sofitel Heathrow is running a special deal directly on its own website.

Book 15 days in advance and you will save 20% on the best flexible rate for that evening.  More interestingly, you will receive 1,000 bonus Le Club Accorhotels points as well.  Those are worth €20 in credit towards future Accor stays – although you need to redeem in chunks of 2,000 – or 1,000 Avios if you convert into Iberia Plus (3,000 points minimum transfer).

When you factor in the base points you would also earn by booking direct – plus the 75% points bonus that any Accor Platinum cardholders would receive – this may be a better deal for Accor points collectors than the lastminute.com offer.

The same ‘1000 bonus points’ deal is also available for the Sofitel Gatwick and the Sofitel St James in central London.  Given that rooms at Gatwick sell for around £100 at weekends, this offer is a decent rebate – the Sofitel is also directly connected to the terminals.  It runs until August 31st.

Does Sofitel allow car parking at the hotel for the duration of, say, a 10 day trip?

    Thanks.

    • Tariq says:

Looks like parking packages are for chunks of 4/8/15 days according to the booking engine. It says parking is onsite.

    • Louise says:

They let you pay for extra days if the packages don’t work – just let the know when dropping car off.

    • DAZ says:

Its cost £16.00 a day (January 15 prices) if you just take it on a daily basis, sometimes it will be better to shop around and see if deals are being done for the T5 short stay carpark etc.

A bonus( if a little vain): Sofitel does have dedicated BMW parking spots, god help any Audi or Mercedes drivers who even think of doing any anarchist parking! However mine is normally the dirtiest there :- )

  • Waribai says:

BMW Parking spots? What’s that all about?

    • CHRIS says:

walking around the place its like a commerical for bmw’s i series cars so likely a promotional thing

  • Chris says:

Just checked for my dates and still very expensive even with the discount. For me I would rather be further away from the terminal, take a taxi and still spend less than Sofitel, even though the lure of walking from bedroom to boarding is attractive.

  • Aeronaut says:

Off topic but just regarding airports that aren’t Heathrow, the new Escape Lounge at Stansted now has an opening date – 27th April.

  • CHRIS says:

Stayed Monday night and thanks to all the promotions (first of my stay 3, 1000 points for staying and my double points offer) and plat status got 4095accor points for one night … paid 180 and thanks to a qantas tech issue with a 380 was upgraded to a suite… best airport hotel night ever…
