News in brief:

10% off Iberia flights to Spain

Iberia is offering a 10% discount on cash tickets for flights from the UK and Europe to Spain.  This is an exclusive offer for Iberia Plus members and you should see it pop up when you log into your Iberia Plus account at iberia.com.

Flights must be booked by June 9th for travel between June 9th and September 15th.  Iberia, Iberia Express and Iberia Regional flights are included but the BA codeshares are not.  The discount only applies to economy flights.

Heathrow Terminal 2 launches a royal luggage trolley

To celebrate the first birthday of Terminal 2, Heathrow has rolled out a royal golden luggage trolley.  No idea why.  It even plays the national anthem when being pushed.  If you are lucky, you could get to use it on your next flight.

This is, surely, what the Queen was hoping for when she agreed to give her name to the new terminal.

Do you know what will happen if I buy the tesco delivery saver and add it to my account when I already have an existing delivery saver that takes me through to September? Will it reset this so I will lose a few months or add it on, so it will give me another 12 months starting in September? Thanks

    • Tilly71 says:

I dont think that will work, you will probably have to wait until the end of your current subscription, cancel then start a new subscription.
50% offer is on most of the time as a way of getting new customers. You want to wait also as they run bonus clubcard offers like 3000 points for taking out a subscription.

      • Richard says:

        Thanks a lot for this

        • Graham Walsh says:

Just cancelled my delivery saver over the phone. Then went to use the code and this message appeared

Sorry, this Coupon is valid only for first time subscribers.
You have previously subscribed to Delivery Saver

Wonder how long we have to wait.

Just to make everyone aware to keep an eye on things. Amex MR in the US have just devalued the transfer rate to BA from 1:1 to 5:4. No news yet if the UK will follow.

    • Alan says:

Certainly hope not given how they earn at an MR per $ and we earn one per £. They always had an overly generous rate I think.

    • Rob says:

Unlikely. Seems to be pressure from Chase (BA’s official US partner) to make Amex cards less attractive compared to the Chase cards. Why bother getting a BA official card when you can get an Amex with the same earning rate PLUS a huge amount of flexibility to transfer to other programmes if you want.

      • RIccati says:

Interesting but then Chase is locked in to BA offerings. Devaluation means there is less interest in BA card from Chase, so they go after their competition. Vicious circle.

If I need Avios, I would take better-earning Avios card, but if I don’t need that much (even less after devaluation)…

We also see a lot of this lately, ie, pushing customers with a stick (instead of being enticed with a bonus on subscription/conversion). That is very odd.

  • Mark B says:

Hi, off topic, but does anyone know if a companion card TSB Amex has a different number from the main account holder? It’s only worth me getting a supplementary card for my wife if we can register that card separately for Amex offers? The Lloyds Amex sup and main cards do have different numbers, but I’ve found that the MBNA United Amex, for example, doesn’t. Thanks

    • Nick M says:

I thought offers were generally limited to one per account?

      • Mark B says:

Usually per unique card number. Eg recent Amazon, Boots, Nero, Shell deals could all be saved to both main and companion cards, though not the Gold Amex Travel deal which came out a few days ago.

  • Graham Walsh says:

Just a quick update on the Tesco delivery saver, if you leave it a week (ie one delivery) I successfully applied the code and now have my shopping delivered for 1 year for £15 (Mid week). Previously was saying I was an existing customer.
