Marriott Rewards has launched a new promotion offering 2,000 bonus Avios (or other airline miles) at 250 hotels across Europe this Summer.

There are 250 hotels taking part which are featured on this webpage.   The new JW Marriott in Venice, pictured below, is included.

You need to stay for a minimum of two weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) between now and 13th September.

You need to use code M11 if booking via marriott.com.  The code is added automatically if you use the links from the promo page.

This deal is only valid for people who have their Marriott Rewards account set to collect airline miles instead of Marriott points from their stays.  Some hotels may have a separate points bonus on offer for points collectors.

As always with these promotions, you need to take care that you are not paying for the 2,000 Avios via an inflated rate.  I checked the Marriott York, for instance, and the promotional rate was the same as the standard cancellable rate which was good.  At a Courtyard in Berlin, however, you had to give up free breakfast to get the 2,000 Avios rate.

Full details and the list of participating hotels can be found here.

Prefer earning Marriott points at Marriott to Avios myself, but for the first time in years, the Marriott June to September points promotions in any form, have not appeared.
Don’t know what the Marriott thinking is.
Promote Avios earning rather than Marriott points earning?
Or is it that the left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing.

OT – the Club Carlson 4-day member only promotion is due to be live at some point today. I was only emailed about this yesterday.
