Following the success of our previous chauffeur drive competition, and thanks to global professional driver service Blacklane, I am running another special giveaway today which will last for just 18 hours.

Between now and midnight, you can win up to £200 (or US$200 or €200) of credit towards a Mercedes E-Class, Mercedes S-Class or luxury SUV transfer.

This competition is open to readers worldwide as Blacklane operates in 50 countries.  In the UK, they are in Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London and / or Manchester.

About Blacklane

Blacklane is a global provider of ground transportation services, operating in 180 cities across 50 countries.  Via its website or app, you can pre-order a vehicle for a specific trip or by the hour.

The company was founded in Germany in 2011 with a plan to globalise what was previously a very fragmented industry.  Travellers can now book vehicles worldwide from just one website or app, and Blacklane is integrated into distribution systems such as Amadeus to make it easy for business travellers.

In my tests, pricing for a Mercedes E-Class or equivalent from my house to Heathrow was virtually the same as using Uber, with the added benefit that your Blacklane trip is pre-booked and the price is guaranteed.

You can learn more about Blacklane on their website here.

The prize

The winner will receive TWO ride vouchers for free from Blacklane.  Each voucher entitles you to a single journey worth up to £100, €100 or US$100, depending where you choose to use it.

How to enter

I am using the same automated entry software that I used for other recent competitions.

You are allowed one entry per person and all you need to do is complete your email address in the form below.

Your details remain private – they will not be shared with Blacklane and will not be used by Head for Points for any other purpose.

This competition is open to everyone, everywhere except where prohibited by local law.

The rules

You can see the detailed rules by clicking on ‘Terms and Conditions’ in the entry widget. In summary:

You must be at least 18 years old

There are no residential restrictions – everyone can enter

Entries are limited to one per household

The competition closes at midnight, London time, on Monday 29th June

If you cannot see the entry widget below, please click here and you will be directed to a special website to enter.

Good luck.  The winner will be notified within 48 hours of the competition closing.

I am really surprised that head for points is promoting this company. Their app is appauling and for anyone living outside the M25 their prices are ridiculous

  • Paul says:

Have entered and would love to win as it is the only way I would use them. Priced from my home to t5 and they are more than double the local taxi service. They also limit bags to 2 and passengers to 3 in an E or even an S class. No good to families.

    • Rob says:

Not sure that would be a like for like comparison, unless your local cab company is running a Mercedes fleet!

The comparison with Uber I did was a like for like against an Uber Mercedes and it was virtually the same.

    • HpW says:

I have used them many times and can confirm they are really good. Slight premium over my local cab service, but far superior. Plenty of promotions as well , which help.

Vehicle guaranteed, drivers always friendly and they are ok with being flexible on bags. My wife and I, along with our baby son, travelled back with them from LHR last week and had one full size case, stroller and four pieces of hand luggage. All in an E class.

They have V class vans available as well.

  • Ian says:

Interested in any experience of using this service versus Tristar.

  • Chris Schofield says:

Never heard of this company… tried to do a quote.

    1) Doesn’t seem to accept postcodes.
    2) Tried Street address instead. Says “Please add a house number”. I don’t have a house number.
    3) Put in a dummy number of someone nearby. “Sorry we can’t find your address”

How hard does it need to be?

    • Rob says:

Lack of postcodes is a bit odd although, to be fair, I never use a postcode when putting an address into Uber, possibly because I will be on my phone at the time and unlikely to have the postcode handy.

      • Chris Schofield says:

I tend to use postcode all the time – I’ll be chatting to someone on whatapp for example and if I need to get a car to them, I’ll ask what their post code is, not “what’s your full address and mother’s maiden name” 🙂

  • Matthew says:

I’ve made a booking with them for a trip to LHR tomorrow. Original price of £53 more or less exactly the same as Uber Exec but with £10 discount via promo code 6C45N80Z it’s only £8 more than Uber X.

I’ve experienced a fairly sharp decline in the quality of vehicles used by Uber so on the lookout for an alternative. Will report back with my experience.

    • Matthew says:

Spotlessly clean brand new Merc E-class arrived 10 mins early. Driver was friendly and got me there safely and in good order so I’m pretty happy to recommend their services. Return trip tomorrow will provide me with another data point.

  • whiskerxx says:

    Good luck everyone.
I did consider entering just to use the car for a supermarket sweep, but thought someone else might get better value.
I did also look up some prices on the website.
At £282 one way for the 113 mile trip I make to Heathrow I doubt I will be using them anytime soon.
Anyone living around Kensington might be more interested!

  • Susan says:

Just priced them up for my next trip (home to FCO) – €30 more than our regular Mercedes transfer so unlikely to use them again.
