News in brief:

150 Clubcard points (360 Avios) with Now 91 CD

Amazingly, the ‘Now That’s What I Call Music’ compilation CD collection is still going strong!  The 91st installment is due for release in late July.

Tesco Direct is offering 150 bonus Clubcard points if you pre-order a copy for £13.  That is worth 360 Avios or 375 Virgin Flying Club miles.  Tesco’s price guarantee means that you will pay less if it eventually goes on sale for under £13 on the first day of release.

This deal doesn’t really work for anyone planning to resell on eBay – 150 points is not enough for the risk involved.  If you can use the CD, however, it is a decent bonus.

The link to order is here.  You need to order by July 23rd.

Etihad Guest triple and quadruple miles offer

Etihad has launched a new bonus miles offer for its premium classes AND the premium classes of its airline partners.  This is ludicrously lucrative at the top end, earning over 200,000 miles for a First Class return to Sydney.

You earn triple miles for flights in business class and quadruple miles for flights in first class.  All fare classes qualify.

The rules are:

  • Flights must be booked before July 20th in business or first class
  • Registration is required via this link
  • Flights must be taken between July 5th and September 15th
  • Flights must be in business or first class
  • Participating airlines are Etihad, airberlin, Air Seychelles, Alitalia, Jet Airways and Air Serbia
  • Flight must be credited to an Etihad Guest account

Vueling

Vueling €29.99 sale

Vueling, BA’s low-cost sister airline based in Barcelona, is running a six-day sale with one-way tickets from €29.99.

Vueling operates from Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, mainly to Barcelona.

Unfortunately, so poor is their website, that I cannot give you a list of routes.  They claim to fly to 159 places from London, for example, but I guess 156 or more will be indirect.  You’re definitely good if you want to go to Barcelona though!

You can earn Avios with Vueling but only if you book via iberia.com.  Fares will be higher on iberia.com but do usually include luggage.  I would check both options although I doubt the latter will compare well with any €29.99 promotional fares.

Etihad quadruple miles offer: “…earning over 200,000 miles for a First Class return to Sydney!” Now imagine you pay for that ticket with your new MBNA Etihad Amex which would earn you another 4.5 miles per £…

Another ‘bit’ – a new badge is available in Avios Suitcase. It’s guess the currency again and is for 50 avios. Answer is Lithuanian one!

  • Will says:

If you booked Air Berlin using avios, is there any way to add your etihad number? I imagine it could be a hole in the system as Etihad are not one world. I might try it if someone can advise on changing FF numbers with Air Berlin

Your right the vueling website is not good, they also fly to Rome from Gatwick as well as Barcelona. And a couple of other places in Spain too.

  • Gemma says:

If you were to return the cd in store for a refund would you keep the points?

    • Tilly71 says:

No, they now look at your receipt and deduct the all the points Inc any bonus points.

Is ITA Matrix the best way to find the cheapest EY F to SYD?

  • David says:

“You can earn Avios with Vueling but only if you book via iberia.com.” This is not correct, you can also earn Avios points if you book on the Vueling site, providing you choose the Optima or Excellence fares for the flight. Not the ‘basic’.

(Both ‘optima’ and ‘ecellence’ include a hold bag and online checkin. yes ‘basic’ does not even allow online checkin.)

What is true, is that you can only earn them into an Iberia plus account when booking on Vueling site.
