Get 25% off Heathrow Express tickets until August 31st

Links on Head for Points may support the site by paying a commission.  See here for all partner links.

Heathrow Express is currently offering a 25% discount for Visa cardholders – which must mean pretty much anyone.

Full details and the promotional code needed can be found on the Visa website here.  I cannot do a direct link to the deal because Heathrow Express has started coding their offers in such a way that the links only work if the click is seen to come from the official offer website.

Prices are reduced to £16.12 one-way / £26.25 return in Standard and £22.12 / £39.75 in First Class.

Note that, for two adults travelling together and who need a return, it is cheaper to buy a Duo Saver for £50.

The offer runs until August 31st and may be especially useful if you are heading away for the Bank Holiday.  The tube strike on Friday may have been cancelled but the roads towards Heathrow will still be very, very busy.

Remember that children now travel free on Heathrow Express at all times.  This even applies to First Class.  We have used the HEx twice since this new policy came in, both when travelling on Friday evenings when the idea of facing the A4 / M4 traffic was not appealing.

If you have Marriott Rewards Silver status or higher, you may want to check out their ‘free First Class upgrade’ promotion instead which also expires on the 31st.  This will make First Class tickets even cheaper than the Visa offer at £21.50 one-way and £35 return.

Can you book using a railcard to get further discount? Otherwise it’s still cheaper buying from any other TOC specifying railcard and get 33% discount!

    • AndyS says:

sorry for being lazy – i’ve tried it now and you can *either* enter a promotion code *or* a railcard. but not both

Totally off topic, but noticed that Raffles popped up in a Management Today article today discussing cars (or lack thereof).

Indeed – the things I do for free publicity ….

I did tweet a link to the article, I’m not hiding it 🙂

It’s a good article, interesting to read the different perspectives. Company cars certainly aren’t the perk they used to be…

I didn’t think you were hiding it, I Iooked through today’s comments and couldn’t see any one else mention it so thought I would pop a link on that was all.

          I was joking!

          heh heh!

Thought a couple of parameters were slightly different to that in recent articles lol

Anyway, the good old days of company cars are well worth remembering, I remember shooting up to ski out of Aviemore for 1 day the driving back again without paying a sausage; taking my new Audi 80 lol on a 2 week holiday of France & Spain without paying a sausage; basically driving everywhere without paying a sausage.

Then I got promoted & headed abroad to run some divisions, guess what? – again I didn’t pay a sausage for cars & travelling 🙂

Back in the UK 20 years later, I know the score now but I can’t see it’s any better for industry or HMRC – sure my wife has a nice car but we can’t use it freely, it’s not so brilliant as a tool for companies to retain staff, obviously she tries to meld emissions with performance/ quality to save a bit of money but I get the impression jealous people in HMRC just screwed it up for no overall benefit to taxation.
