Avios.com has launched a 50% discount offer on redemptions on Monarch

Specifically, you will save 50% on the following routes:

  • Birmingham, Luton or Manchester to Malaga
  • Birmingham, Leeds Bradford or Manchester to Barcelona
  • Birmingham, Leeds Bradford, Luton or Manchester to Faro
  • Birmingham or Luton to Rome Fiumichino
  • Manchester to Venice

Flights on all of these routes (economy only) have been reduced from 15,000 Avios to 7,500 Avios return, per person.

Monarch

Here are the rules:

You must book by 30th September

You must travel between 15th September and 16th December, excluding half term (23rd October to 2nd November)

These flights can ONLY be booked by calling the Avios call centre.  The telephone booking fee will be waived.

Monarch is not part of Reward Flight Saver, so your taxes will be higher than the usual £35.  Make sure you check the cash price of a comparable ticket on the Monarch website so you know that you are getting a decent return for your Avios.

You will need to have your Avios points in avios.com in order to book.  You can move your points from British Airways Executive Club by using the ‘Combine My Avios‘ feature on either the BA or avios.com sites.

Full details of this promotion can be found here.

  • AlanYoung says:

Note the phone number on the bottom of this promotion is wrong. When I contacted Avios yesterday they knew nothing about this promotion, but said they would rectify the phone number.
When you add the cost for all the extras (Taxes, bags etc) the deal isn’t so great

    • Raffles says:

I expected as much, as with the current Flybe promotion. On the right dates, and if you are only on hand baggage, it may have value.

  • Steve R says:

Good luck with finding flights. It is painfully slow trying to find availability, even if you can.

Re the hold luggage, Avios automatically add it on, you then have to phone them up to remove it.

I sometimes think it is one of those deals that are offered, but good luck if you can find it

  • James says:

I am actually in the market for Manchester – Malaga flights as it happens, so I had a look.

Availability is absolute zero, I checked a whole 3 months!
